I guess the coolest thing about SSBB is that now all those fanboys who grew up during the NES/SNES/Genesis/MD days can finally answer the eternal question: Who is better, Mario or Sonic? (thats if your that kind of fanboy
Indeed, but is thanks to the mixture of fanboyism in gamers and general stupidity in the mainstream that nintendo has managed to sell 10-year-old hardware for a premium, while SEGA's hardware is no more and now they're making crap games to pay pimp`Sammy some "protection" Meh, I already did that in 1997 when I threw a rabies-infected hedgehog to the face of an italian plumber named giuseppe:lol: The results? giuseppe died due to infections (guess stuffing backyard mushrooms in his blood-covered face didnt help) and the hedgehog got shot by animal control... But they shot him after giuseppe died, so I say that Sonic won the battle!:clap:
At least that was well thought out with at least an inkling of wit to it But the question is, did giuseppe's brother Luigino run over the aforementioned Hedgehog, scrape it off the road and bake it into a pizza afterwards to commemorate his brothers death? (and any Italians reading this, please do not take offence at my stereotypical comment, it is purely meant as a sarcastic )
Heh. Everything's considered a rehash this day. If this is, then so is the latest obligatory FPS by SHOOTER Co. Ltd.. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw.
well the wii is all about the new southbridge that controls Blutooth, Wifi etc, it's not like its exactly a GC.They just share alot in common. Sorta like your PC of past and your PC of today, they re quite similar but the advances are massive - and they can be compatible to a great degree =) now end this line of thinking and concentrate on the one game that a gamer needs, Brawl.
Right, bluetooth, woohoo... I think you're talking about architecture, while the Wii is a slightly revamped GC and nothing else...
Breaking news: SONIC BOOM confirmed for Brawl. If you're strong, you can fly, you can reach the other side of the rainbow. It's alright, take a chance, 'cause there is no circumstance that you can't handle (when you use your mind)
it's like using a P4 1.6 and a P4 3.2 - "same" but much better. Besides, we ve been over this before, it's not like those are GC motherboards. There is: a)a new motherboard b)new supported peripherals (USB ports, SDIO port etc) c) new and expanded graphics chip that includes the new southbridge d)more memory e) new die size Everyone perceived the GameBoy color as a new gameboy , with no complaints, despite it having less new features than comparing GC-Wii, so I can't see the reason for such a comment. Quite a few consoles and systems are what you would call a mere repackaging.
Netburst sucked donkey balls, is not a good example, anyways... a) The PS2 slim has a new motherboard and we dont call it PS3. b) Big deal... c) Modifying Flipper to make it 50% faster doesnt makes it new at all. d) Thats the cheaper way to bump hardware's possibilities, just like with an aging PC. e) So does the falcon X360s but you dont see me talking about that... And the GBC, even when it was by far one of the biggest abuses nintendo commited during their time of portable monopoly, was pretty much a gameboy 2, having new components and considerably higher specs than the original. The Wii is an overclocked GC with motion controllers, which wouldnt be a problem for me at all if it wasnt becos nintendo sells it for 25% more than the GC at launch, almost 7 years ago...
Wrong. Go read what the GBC consists of and you ll see with your very own eyes that the Wii has more significant improvements over the GC. And you are comparing a hardware revision, namely the slim or the falcon, to a new configuration/layout/console specification/standard? You must be running out of arguments
No, YOU are: I show how other consoles do the same without so much fanfare and yet you try to make it sound different than what it really is. Reducing the die, redesigning the motherboard, OC on some components and extra memory DOES NOT MAKE THE WII A COMPLETELY NEW CONSOLE. Theres more differences between the Genesis and the NeoGeo than between Gamecube and Wii, yet back in the day nobody got flammed for mentioning the similarities between those two consoles. But of course those arent nintendo-made, no one shall dare to criticize the all-mighty N! The GBC, even if you dont want to accept it had a different CPU and four times the memory of the original GB. For the Wii to be in an equivalent situation it should have a G4 or G5 instead of that G3 gekko.. The main problem here is this: I say is unfair that nintendo sells the Wii at $250 since its barely more than the GC and even more expensive than that one at launch, even when its 7 years old tech (11 if you count when the G3 was released). Meanwhile you try to distortion these points saying that the modifications made on the original GC hardware arent slightly at all and truly justify the inflated price tag. If thats true, or the supposed "high R&D costs" some people talk about, then why is nintendo making record profits? does "overpriced hardware" rings a bell?
nope, the GBC doesn't have a different processor, it's an extended up-clocked version of the original. Nintendo is free to set their price as they like, they are under to obligation to give it away for cheap. The XBOX is a PC in a box, according to your line of thinking, but this hasnt stopped the audience from perceiving it as a seperate console and not a PC. Same applies for the Wii. I understand this is your personal view, but it doesnt stand the scrutiny when you try and present it as a fact.
I've always said that you don't have to buy something if you don't want or like it. So what if the Wii is a Game Cube of steroids and Nintendo charge more for it. The fact is that people want it and if Nintendo can get away with charging what they do then thumbs up to them. If people didn't want it then they wouldn't pay the asking price. People who do pay the asking price but don't want to are idiots to themselves. Anyway, back on topic. My mate brought her copy of Brawl round today or more like she stopped by on the way home from the store. We threw it on and had a bash. The missus and my mate loved it although they basically just button bash. I thought it was just like all the others and games like this such as Power Stone, complete and utter madness. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid but I can certainly see why the other two were really in to it. Yakumo
Yakumo: Any chance it has English menus? Its one of the few games i m considering to import from Japan just because I can't wait
