Adding more memory to the GC doesn't make a new console according to you, but adding more memory to a GB makes a new console? Wtf?
Really? Where in this thread I said the Xbox was a PC? Eh? Check the GBC processor... And in any case, I never said the GBC was a completely new console, just that is more different from the original GB than the Wii is from the GC. Anyways, yakumo what about SSB's control?

The Wii processor, known as the Broadway (not Gecko as in the GC) is an extended and upclocked version of the original, and the Hollywood is extended with many more features than the GBC's processor improved over the GB. You never said the GBC is a completely new console, but there's two kinds of consoles: new , and not new. So you mean the GBC was an upgrade akin to that of the Slim PS2? or the Slim PSP? I don't think there is Barc0de since I was looking on youtube for videos and one user said he got it from his import shop near by and seeing the video it was all in Japanese. Either he didn't know how to do it or there isn't.
I don't think so either. Pink Godzilla was explaining how to unlock snake, and they would say "the fourth option (blablabla)" instead of telling you how to switch it to english.

The Amiga had a 68000, does that make the Genesis a PC? and what about all the Macs using PowerPC? are GC/Wii/X360 PCs? Many SGI PCs had MIPS CPUs, and so do PSX, N64, PS2 and PSP, are those PCs? The DC had a SH4 which some WinCE PCs used, plus a GPU available for PCs, and it even had a modem and internet! is that a PC for you? Just becos the damn Xbox was the only one with an X86 CPU doesnt means its a PC: Its still a closed-enviroment with no legitimate wayto use it for a different purpose than the specific one for which it was created: playing games. And mentioning the PStwo and PSP slim is just stupid, mostly becos none of 'em have a significant improvement that wasnt available in one form or another for the old version (like the ethernet port in PStwo). The GBC even when I hate it was a considerable upgrade from the normal GB, but not a generational jump like GBA was. Had nintendo used a G4 or G5 in the Wii it would've been a comparable situation since it wouldnt be a generational jump either (the damn X360 has 3 G5s for christ sake) but it would've been a considerable upgrade from the old G3-based gecko, much more than just a Mhz bump, which is what broadway is...

Honestly I dont even care that is overpriced, but it pisses me off that most people out there try to deny it. Dunno, maybe they feel kinda dumb for paying that much for old tech, so they take any criticism against the console like something personal. I've seen it before, but mostly with cars and clothes.
Something is worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. It's been said before, especially on this type of forum.
That's speculation, like a market bubble, and we all know how those end... Seriously, can you imagine a market full of overpriced consoles with old tech and few good games? how long it would take for people to get tired and stop buying that?

But it's not nowhere. if you had a product X, and you said "how much money would you spend on this?" and I said Z amount, but you were expecting Y amount, with Y being lower. Would you do charge the higher amount? Of course. Welcome to the business world. As for my collectors reference, I was refering to the fact that if someone wants something they're going to pay for it. And if someone's selling something, they're going to sell it for as much as people will pay.
I think nintendo went with that price since in any case they could/can make it much lower. This isnt something the other console manufacturers could/can do. A better example of paying above usual would be the clothing industry where customers dont mind paying more for a A-grade brand even if its made in the same sweatshop than F-grade brand clothes. As collectors we are dealing with a limited supply, hence the high prices on scarce items...
