Same as scavenger said, your first post made it sound like burned discs. My mistake =p

Isn't the definition of a reproduction, to re-produce something that was once in production? Since this was never in production (1.5) I wouldn't think that's an issue, however producing anything with the RESIDENT EVIL trademark on there and distributing it will get you a slap on the face from the lawyers. If they're going to pounce, they'd probably pick that to bitch about.

You should be careful to put full credits and copyright info on there to CAPCOM I'd say to lessen the chance of this happening.

Alternatively I'd just post the artwork online and let people print it themselves, if there were a problem this would solve it.

I am going to release everything online tonight sometime. I have given the correct credit to CAPCOM in the manual. Even all trademarks.

I don't want lawyers running after me, so I have to cover all my bases. The CD's have been put on hold.

It's not because it wasn't in busyness-jargon "production" that it's not a reproduction.

    I liked it :))

I'll wait for the final release from the restauration team and build my own here.
    Thank you Zombie, nice work.

Nice work zombie. A manual is something I was going to work on at somepoint, this saves the hassle, thanks. I suspect there will be many more custom box arts etc for this game, I know there's already a ton out there. I mentioned a long time ago I planned to make a design for lightscribe discs. If and when I get to this ill post it online too. Good work.

Heh, nice manual Zombie250 mate. Wasn't expecting that level of detail, nice work indeed.

Ah, ok. I was too lazy to look up an actual definition there myself. :p This just perpetuates my point further though, producing/distributing anything with the name on could lead to trouble as they'd be well within their rights to stop it. Whether or not they'd put the time and money into doing so is of course a different matter completely since it was only planned to be a limited run of 50-100 discs only.

    Hey,

Thanks for the comments guys. Some guys on THIA really hated the manual as they say it is unoriginal. I based it around the retail RE2 manual. So of course it really isn't original. I also pulled some planned info because my source stopped communicating and didn't provide specifics. The character profiles are based on released material and some info from News Bot.

Also others have pointed out grammatical errors and typos. I am looking for any further feedback on how to improve the manual. I probably won't do the discs, but might get some manuals/inserts printed up and distribute them for free. I know there are some typos and errors, as I released a somewhat unfinished manual. I released it many to cover my self and another member.

So what do you guys have to say? What should I change? Your feedback is appreciated.

I wanted to get into more detail about some accusations here. Me nor my partner, ever wanted to capitalize on the modding teams build. We wanted a realistics "what if" manual, such as what if RE1.5 did get released. I theorized the manual would have been similar, so I used RE2's manual as a base. I never wanted to steal their work or charge for it. This was by the fans for the fans.

I had initially wanted to charge only productions costs of the disc, and once I had enough funds, I would place the order. Somewhat like a donation drive to do it. This way once the order was placed, anyone could get a manual, CD, and insert for free. That's why I asked $.99 for a dsic. I blame myself for not wording it properly, but that's what I intended to do.

I hope you all understand that we never wanted to get money for our work, time, and effort. This was non profit 100%. My wording and how I promoted it caused all this commotion.

So to the community, Team IGAS, B.Zork, and D.Birkin, I am sorry. I didn't mean any harm or ill will. I thought I was doing something good for the community, something cool and unique. But perhaps it was meant not to be.

The manual you guys have now is not 100% done as per the errors within it. They will be corrected, the manual will get a slight overhaul, and it will be released in due time for free, just not in printed form. It will be JPEG or a PDF. Until then guys, I am sorry and lets move past this.

Bah, no need to apologise, I don't think anyone here thought you were doing this for profit. We were basically warning you that you may get into trouble for doing it that's all. As for the folks at THIA shunning the manual, well are you surprised?

A lot of folks over there play the beta over and over again and spend their hours picking through it and trying to dredge up details about it as well as speculating on it's origins and destined forms. That is NOT a crowd you're going to please with anything less than a 100% professionally produced, bespoke to 1.5 manual and CD design. Don't beat yourself up, it's a nice gesture.

As for improvments, I'm afraid I can't help you on that one but I'll keep an eye out for the finished product and maybe print one out, though I have no other games with cases original or otherwise so I probably won't bother myself.

    Hi,

Thanks for the kind words guys. The guys on THIA think I am some demon now but whatever. As this is free for all to enjoy.

I have backed out of this project and will not support the printing of these at all. I have distributed the manual for free for all to enjoy. No money had exchanged any hands nor will it. No orders were placed on my end at all and I will not do so.

Further improvements to the manual will occur and the updated files will be released as they are completed.

You could, but none of the games I looked at did that. You could embed all the files within the PSX.EXE too as the header of the file specifies how much of it to load into ram.

However building the assets still has the problem that you need to know where they are on the disc as reading the directories is too slow & it's more likely they just didn't bother to include the files in the directory listing instead of purposefully removing them as some form of protection.

Hey Marek, here is the link I had, you should be able to download this RE 1.5 ! I'm not sure this is the best build of this release, I found it quite unplayable to be honnest !

    https://anonfiles.com/file/f81b503ee...d32d50f7ea8fbb

There is also a patch you could apply to fix some bugs : http://www.mediafire.com/?ss21si45bl30iti (I didn't test it yet)

Just burn this onto a blank CD and try... I keep hoping that this release will be finished someday !!!!!!

It's worth mentioning that ALL current ISOs of Resident Evil 1.5 do not work very well on a real PSX (PlayStation) due to it's code having being messed with - this was never supposed to be released yet - when the restoration team finally officially release it properly, it should work flawlessly on real hardware.

Again, no version of this released to date works properly on a real PlayStation, use the emulator PSXfin for best results.

PS3 works great if you have multiman to play it.

Really?? Do you not have to keep resetting it (PS3) when it crashes? I know all you need to do is kill PSXfin and restart it when disaster happens, better yes, save state before you try anything questionable. Worked a treat for me, I never bothered trying it on PS3, something tells me it's more hassle than that?

I have to take my hat off to these people for keeping those keen on current events up to date, they could have just as easily shunned internet attention and released it whenever. They seem to be working with probably the most difficult fan base in gaming history not against them (which believe me is an inviting prospect considering the amount of trolls present).

Probably haha. 1.5 has been sought after for years, though I have only learned about it like a year or so ago. Imagine if it was the Zelda 64 proto though. . . These guys are great people, coming out and answering questions to the public as well.
