Info about Resident Evil 1.5

Hopefully '1.5' will appear -out of the blue- just like these two incredible, early Biohazard builds. I mean, it was an anonymous person dropping these gems, which implies that there are people who aren't interested in 'fame' or crying for attention.

All i can do is playing the other titles and discussing 1.5 here, waiting...patiently .

If there are 4 different builds of Biohazard 1.5 like Alzaire said, then there are more possible/potential owners if i'm correct. Although most of us would rather experience the 80% completed build than the 20% completed one i guess. :dance:

 

No no, I don't assume actual builds as certain discs, I go by general design "era". There are 5 distinct eras within 1.5's development with notable differences between each other with features/design/ect that appear within each era that identifies them. This does not mean there are 5 cds out there with one of each era. There are actually small differences within the same eras in some cases. There's no way to know how many actual discs there are, or if any discs from eras 1-3 exist in the wild. My era identification is simply to keep things simple and grouped, since there's no actual discs to go by.

 

You word that as if there is a single copy out there and we all would be able to tell you where it is. Who knows how many copies exist in the hands of collectors or at Capcom HQ or what, but I don't think anyone is aware of who presently really owns a copy or not.

 

One thing's for sure, the people who currently have it aren't about to let it go.

 

Oh yes, i agree with that, but one shouldn't be afraid of some use of the imagination at the same time. Some of the earlier screens may have been shot from some workstation for all we know. But there may be a disc also. Like you said, since we cannot be sure, it's safe to drop that for now. :thumbsup:

Well, all I can add to this that if the earlier game ,Re1, leaks happened, and very rare leaks, then this puts hope into new level, if that RARE things came up, face it, they are more rare than 1.5, then the 1.5 will popup too. I am very sure of it. Just wait.

 

If a certain someone get's in contact with me we might get it, but I haven't talked to him in 16+ years. He sold me his Atari and Amiga in mid 90's.

 

Sending the fanboys to his door is NOT the way to go about getting it. Numerous people have refused to release betas after leechers found they had it (Sonic Xtreme etc)

So some random guy's FB profile gets posted here. Said random guy "might" have something that every Resident Evil fan, including the many stupid people in that fanbase, want. I can't see this going well.

 

I always thought of myself as being quite well-versed in the history of Biohazard 1.5, but I've never really identified five development eras. Come to think of it, I was under the impression there were only three such phases: the Tokyo Game Show '96 build that was responsible for all those blue-tinted screenshots from magazines, a later version with Leon's early suit design and finally the later revisions, as seen in the PlayStation Museum and Complete Disc footage. After this, wasn't production restarted, with more and more prototype elements removed (apart from a few areas nearer to the game's end)? Maybe the similarly as-yet-unleaked BH2 Beta 1 is the missing link between the earlier incarnations and what ultimately reached shelves, making another step in its evolution? Please tell me more either way... I'd sure love to know!

 

IDK it's slim chance at best, I just know at the time I lived in pat I baught a few ps1 bootlegs / beta's during 1997-99 including bh3 and thrill kill among others, I don't even know if he quit homebrewing or not after the Atari / Amiga it's been too long, but he'd be the best person to know this type of thing.

Era 1 - Earliest version with first lobby design, Leon with short sleeves and black vest, ect.
Era 2 - Leon with jeans and jacket, female zombies, changes to lobby and other areas.
Era 3 - Leon in his regular RPD uniform, Elza's early low quality model, no more female zombies, Firing Range has 8 stalls, a few other design changes.
Era 4 - Elza's model improved, Firing Range 4 stalls, various other changes, infamous animations like Leon holding handgun up, Sherry early model, John low quality model, ect. (Playstation Museum version, "Sneak Peek" video version and a couple videos)
Era 5 - Final era stuff, various changes and tweaks, era 4 animations removed, models improved, a couple design changes. Inflames images, Complete Disc videos. and some other late media

A full writeup would be pretty lengthy, but those are just some examples of the eras off the top of my head.

 

So changes occurred throughout the game's development while Capcom was adjusting its enemy types, locations and character designs? Also, while I knew there were later versions than the PSMuseum build, it's great to know Inflames' source has possibly one of the very last known revisions... hopefully one day that's what we'll get to play, if there's ever any leak in the first place!
