Info about Resident Evil 1.5

1.5 is the original 2.

 

The halloween trailer and a leaked picture both showed "Resident Evil 2" as the title for this project. Wouldn't make much sense to use 1.5, not to mention it was meant to be "2" anyway.

 

I have been wondering about this for a while now. This is not resident evil 2 as we already have this. But if its finished is it any longer 1.5? Granted it was intended to be 2. The videos often show it as 2. Im unsure what to call the finished project. Ha bit dictates I call it 1.5 but should it maybe be 2b? You get the idea of what im trying to say I hope!




I do like the box art, if I used that id certainly be happy with it. Might add new spines though, maybe add a new code to the spine too.

 

I would love it if they kept it as BIOHAZARD 2 but instead of having the "TRIAL EDITION" badge on the title screen edit it to say "PROTOTYPE" instead.

Personally I don't really care if they're going to add an extra prototype or trial label to make it somehow different from the real RE2, but since they're probably aiming at the most polished and professional-looking release, Resident Evil 2 would be the only think that'd really work freaking well. Fans will still refer to is as 1.5, so it makes no difference whatsoever.

 

I like geluda's idea of calling it Biohazard 2 : Prototype. It is a difficult one on what to actually call it. I think if there putting all this time and effort into the project id expect them to produce box art too. They may well not but from the little info iv'e heard about the group etc it sounds as though they are really going by " if a jobs worth doing its worth doing well" mentality. If I was to upload my own designs for box art etc I think I would do one version with the title I had decided to put on it, aswell as a version without the title on for people to change it to there own. This is implying I will get round to producing some box art, we shouldn't take this as gospel. I'll put it on " the to do pile".

 

Agreed. I mean we all get the fact that hey this was supposed to be RESIDENT EVIL 2, but this needs to stand out. So that when people come in your room, they're like "WHOA BRO! PROTOTYPE???" lol and not like, "OH it's just RESIDENT EVIL 2."

 

You put this about 100 X better than I was trying to say it.

 

In the end it doesn't really matter what it's called, it's the content of the game that's important not the title screen! But these little extra touches are always nice. In my mind we already have a game called Resident Evil 2, we played it almost fifteen years ago. I like the idea of having the most authentic name possible and Biohazard 2 Prototype probably fits the bill the best. To my knowledge that's what it was most commonly referred to in the industry and is the name the game was given on the Biohazard Complete Disc. Although really whatever the team decide to do I support it, I'm in no place to be picky about such small things when the scope of their work is so large!

I agree, they do look pretty smart! I can't think of any other unreleased game that gets as much time and attention as this!
