The goromacida video shows no copyright graphics during the title screen (and also awesomely shitty font for NEW GAME / LOAD GAME / OPTIONS captions) and by the looks of it in the halloween teaser you can clearly tell it's using retail assets as a replacement. Whether that gets changed or not, it doesn't really matter.

That means that Capcom was aiming for a 1998 release at the time of the 40% build, which seems a bit weird to be considering that the re-done Resident Evil 2 version launched in January 1998. Moreover they put much of the team on Resi 1.5 on to make the Director's Cut version as a way to make up for the longer wait according to resi wiki. Now that could of course be wrong, but it seems more likely that the title screen is fan-made, like the rest of the missing parts of the game. Now I don't mind this at all of course, but it makes you wonder how the real title screen looks like. Also, since they are obviously capable of creating their own content, what proof do we have that this isn't all just remade stuff at this point?

They are using the trial edition title screen because its what the released 1.5 screen would have looked like, with copyrights, and they are making it into what would have been released.

No it is not, the game was delayed and was released in january 1998, so 1.5 would have come out in 1997. Anyway that doesn't matter, my point was that this could not be the original title screen. Perhaps the only edit was the added text, or perhaps there is a whole other background on the original?

Going from the differences in the various Famitsu issues I have from 1996, 1997 and judging from the differences in their screenshots (and screenshots from Bioflames, the PSM footage) that the PSM one looks like the late 1996 build because the screenshots from the issues I have go -

Late August, early September 1996 - Original TGS 1996 build (No release date announced at the time)
Mid to late September - Second build (that other build that has Leon's blue/white jacket and the female zombies on screen)
Early November 1996 - Third build (still has German Shepherds but Leon's model was changed from the original TGS one and the casual outfit wasn't shown in screenshots, still no release date announced at the time)
Early December 1996 - Fourth build (German Shepherds were changed to the Cerberus model, some additional areas were shown in contrast to the reuse of the hall of the police station for the first and second builds, release date was announced for March 1997).

So, given the PSM build had the Cerberus instead of German Shepherds then it would be the late 1996 to some point in January build before the more complete build that Inflames got images of. Though the second and third are probably more along the lines of them being nearly the same, the only difference is that the Famitsu issues don't show the female zombies.

I don't have any Feb 1997 issues of Famitsu on me anymore, but I don't believe any additional 1.5 articles were in it so it seems like judging from the issues that it was probably canned mid to late January to early February just before the March release date (no exact date was given other than March so).

But that's just my thoughts on the general timeframes of the builds going from the Famitsu magazines which seemed to have a lot, if not the most generally published info regarding it.

Oh wait, there's actually none, other than the second line of the copyright. Also notice the perfectly implemented blending effects on the selectable options. 1998 was probably left there in place on purpose, maybe because RE2 was released in 1998 and they wanted to keep that bit. Again, let the speculation flow.

For real? I mean, c'mon! There's a confirmed owner of the game out there, who's already released 5 whole minutes of new media less than a month ago (and who's also had a few accidental leaks, which apparently seems to've displeased him/her greatly - so no telling what those leaks might've cost them ... other than stress) and this confirmed individual has also given indications of looking forward to a very specific date for when people can expect more. Can't people just sit back and wait for that date to come?

Well the sale thread was closed, and I think for good reason it has. Now lets focus on the teams efforts, shall we?

Yes the team seem to be quite skilled. I think they might be former game developers.

as people will not learn snow fall effect things won't change. certain people pissed off. hungry for 1.5 but waiting truly what comes. just hope. this late event about auction in this forum was BS , this pisses off more "The Team (loove ya work, guys!)".

from it one surely sees that thre are people who don't want to see 1.5 released. but why?

If/since the modding team is going to be releasing their builds, the price drop is inevitable. Collectors don't want that to happens? Well, I'm afraid for them, but it's bound to happen sooner or later. People are smart enough to wait as long as necessary for a public link to make it to the surface and get it without having to go through all that mess with private collectors (or fake collectors, which seems more like the case here). On a related matter, I'm not even sure what's the point of all these people claiming to have one, two, or three builds of 1.5, then going back to change part of the story for whatever reason - so far they all seemed like the worst cases of attention whoring. Honestly, these guys are never to be trusted: private collectors never do that, they don't bother claiming to have this or another build of game X, because they simply don't care at all as long as they get their hands on a copy of the title.

It might make the price drop by a bit but overall having a 'backup' copy of a disc isn't what a collector wants, anyone can have a backup disc.
To have an authentic disc from capcom that's either printed or hand written by someone high up from within the company is what makes it worth money. Take gamecube NR readers here, they're exactly the same as ordinary GCs but with a different drive firmware, different colour shell and a nintendo stick label over them, price for a normal 2nd hand GC? About £5. Price for a 2nd hand NR reader with labels left on by the dev. team that had it? about £90.
