The battery life was regarding the bluetooth device not the phone itself. Battery life is a joke no matter where you go. The point of that post was to say "just keep the headphone jack because its just better to". Theres no benefits of removing it. Theres no benefits of changing it to a proprietary port, but its at least not as bad as just removing it all in full. You see Dig, the problem is not phone battery life, it's that removing a headphne jack removes your option of using a peripheral that doesn't consume very much power for an option that drains battery (bluetooth). Im a power conserving freak, battery life is a joke for average use no matter what you have. At best my LG G2 can get 24 hours if in a good area (like not struggling to reconnect to cellular network - speaking of which my area is absolute trash for connections). But that's because I micromanage my whole device that I can get my battery life that long. In the end, even if the device comes bundled with said adapter, it's still doesn't help the case at all because what happens when the adapter breaks or what happens if you lose it? I sure as hell know the abuse that adapter will get will trash the connection and adapter rendering it useless. The whole removal of the port is bad from start to finish.
I leave bluetooth in my G3 on 24/7, it still lasts me like 2-3 of my days. Bluetooth hasn't been a battery killer since they introduced the low power version. However, the idea of having to charge yet another device sounds painful.. I know there would be times where I'd wanna listen but, aww, damn my headphone batteries are dead!
Except it doesn't work like that usually. Most of the time the cost of the phone is built in to your phone contract. You pay the same ~$60 a month whether you get an SGS7 or an iPhone 6s, except at the end of 24 months you can sell the iPhone for a few hundred bucks.
I came from Blackberry. What is the right method to transfer data to iPhone 7? P.S. Figured it out with this tutorial.
