Unfortunately I don't own a IQue so I cannot really help :S Maybe it's related to multiplayer gaming, or for connecting to a download station. Cool, Saving then this time
Cool, The top port is actualy a duel port (assuibly since it has more pins). It is a USB-B/Mini port as well. I was looking at the iQue@home stuff last night. You pretty much just plug it in via usb and the pc will reconize it. I tried it my self last night but with no luck (did not notice the device). It could just be a bad usb port on my pc or the cable. I will try again tonight when I have time. As well see if the iQue[at]home is still a working service (I want to buy sin & punishment).
Cool, give us some feedback if it work! If a standard cable won't work it just probably that they just change the pin layout on the connector. If it work for you, I think I'm gonna try to buy one myself also...
The chinese commentator sounds hilarious! Also, nice effect when the screen goes from the end of the race to the menu =)
I'd like to see a dump of the flash rom. I wonder if it boots from the rom or if there is another one.
Standard cable should work. The online manual tells you to use a USB-B/Mini cable. http://www.ique.com/athomehandbook/athome_02.htm See number 2 Rom is encrypted in some fassion. If you go to the site posted and remove the page name. you will see the site files and there is an iQue game flash cart dump.
I think that game are encrypted to work only with one machine, like wii virtual console. So a dump is more likely useless. But this is just speculation...
Oh, would anybody be interested in me scanning the manual for Dr. Mario (iQue). I don't think there is any online archive of the manuals (would be nice to get one going).
:S still checking but it seems to do iQue[at]Home you need an updated firmware (which you can only get from a store with the iQue Depot). Not fully sure on this so I am waiting till my gf has a chance to read the site for me. Sucks if it's true.
Yeah and the font on my system more resembles the top one. This makes me wonder. Does this mean the core of the system's boot/os/ipl is on the flash cart it self. So could carts from another system work on another iQue. If not that means carts are unique to each iQue (which do have serial number on them). If not the case, then could by the info you posted early on. If I flashed their dump would it work on mine. If so where the **** will i find someone with an updated ique fw and a method to do the same dump. Grrr.
The crazynation page is really old, like few month after iQue release, so I think it's also an old fw anyway. So when you gf go back to china Edit: If the iQue cannot boot without a flash card plugin so the os must be on the flash card otherwise it's stored in the player. Would be nice if you could try to flash the crazynation rom to see if flash rom are unique to a specifique ique or not. If it work them you juste need to find a good dump <speculation> (I highly doubt that this will work, since nintendo present this system as a pirate proof system for china it will be stupid if you just have to duplicate another flash card with all game to get them for free..) (If the fw is on the flash cart maybe this part is not unique, so the ique will boot but game will not work, so you just have to erase them with the software an buy ligit one) </speculation>
Sadly probably not till 2009 (she needs to find a job this summer). Grr. Since you only need your memory card, I wonder if there is a chinese member here who might be able to get it updated.
After the big ASSEMbler sale if I didn't saw something interresting for me, I will seriously try to buy one also, and I will dump the flash. I have acces to all the equipement needed for this at my university. Hope we find a way to get this working...
Im off to hong kong in June and im pretty sure when i was there last july i saw an iQue there. If i find one while im shopping for games and stuff ill let you know if you havent sorted it out by then.
hehe, no need for manual scans. http://s10013.chiyo.enro.at/modules/games/index.php?system=ique&type=released&show=all&value=&sort=title&order=asc There are a few there (i saw dr mario, mario 64, all i checked). Paulo, When you go, If you find game manuals (it comes in a small box and the manual is inside) for iQue games. I'd be heavly interested in them.
