Ok my power supply give only 1.2A and it also work, but I didn't tested it yet with the controller hub and an additional controller, I wait to have an 2A power supply before trying. Ok cool none of my game have a time but Dr Mario have a red square next to it while all other game have a yellow one. Do you know what that mean? Also, it's me or games are easyer than the original one on n64?
Hey did you get any game manuals with your system? (I got for Dr. Mario). Also any plans to take pictures of your new toy for your collection thread?
I got Dr. Mario manual too. Yeais I will take picture of course, I was too busy playing with it I also find sometime better than a ATX PSU, I'm using an external harddrive power suplly right now and I have ordered on ebay the right one.
Again, maybe its something in the options on your unit. Your fw text is of same size as this one. Just you have 1 more option and no online in top left. You sure as hell have a newer firmware then me tho.
Yes I take a look to both second and third menu, the second one seen totaly useless and no word look like to one on the picture, and in the third option there is only 4 option; one for option password I think, one for time & date and the other two are time & date related but I don't know their use. But you say ealier that your gf understand chinese right? If you want I can take picture of the second menu
My ique was manucfactured in january 2004 and the screenshot come from august so I think I might have the previous firmware before they add online...
maybe, Yeah if you wish take a picture and my gf will translate it for us. I took a ton of pictures of my ique today (all sides of the box and etc). I also found something funny out. When a game transferes from flash to temp ram (since it loads games), that temp space is located on the game card. If you pull it out the game still runs but the audio is a little botched and when you press on to continue (like next menu) it crashes. Many/most n64 games ran from ram and not rom, they would just copy gamecode into ram and run from there.
I hate that guy! => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwufLrdca1Y ^^ ok I will try to take picture later.
My brother is in HK right now for a few days so I asked him to look out for a iQue and some place to update it + a Super A'Can I'm not expecting that he will find any of it.. but just in case
I got mine today. I still have to check this, since when I've taken a quick look to it, I've thought maybe this wasn't brand new as I was told... Grrrrr OH: .
Best way to tell if brand new is if the sticker on the bottom is open. Other then that if you asked him to upgrade it then of course the box will be open (since he will need to get to your flash card). Check if you have online. I tried to contact the guy on ebay selling iques but sadly no reply from him.
Mine was new but the seal was broken too, I'm thinking that they need to init the cartridge before selling them. I might be wrong on this cause it's a bit weird the have to init a system before selling it but who know. Anyone ever got a brand new iQue that was actualy sealed???
I'm gonna have to disagree. There should be no reason to open it to flash the initial profile (there is none, you set it yourself, every flash card has a unique ID, suposetly). The theory I have as to why it's open is ... Dr Mario. The system alone is not supost to have any games included (just demos) but posibly at the last min they threw in Dr Mario. Every iQue unit seems to be loaded with the full version of Dr Mario as well include the game's manual. If Dr Mario was an intenional bundle then 1. You would not have the outer box for the manual, you would just have a manual 2. The box would have been slapped with a sticker to promote that the system includes Dr Mario. So as a whole I think Dr Mario might have been a last min desision or a desision by iQue stores to boost hw sales.
All this talk of iQues makes me want to actually pick one up. They're available at Carrefour here in Kunming for something like 399RMB - not sure about games though, guess I'll have to check it out first.
