My god, all these pictures are taking me back. I remember going to Toymaster with all the money I had saved up and the money I had got for my birthday and having a Lego/Subbuteo blow out. I remember buying a Juventus Subbuteo team for something like £16.99 getting it home and after about 2 games my brother fell onto the table and snapped about 6 players; I so wished I had bought another Lego space ship instead! :icon_bigg
There were several Lego board games, but one that I remember from my childhood was the Lego Time Cruisers one. I hated the T.C. theme though. /edit I still have my LEGO Driver's License from Legoland Billund
Okay, I remember either a pirate themed lego board game, or was it a knight themed board game ? Oh yeah, about Legoland in Billund . Well I know some people will be pissed about it, but I actually fucking hate Legoland. I prefer the "Sommerlands" more, such as Djurs Sommerland, FÃ¥rup Sommerland and one or two more. They were more fun, and still had old arcade machines, such as Shenobi among others too.
I'm tempted to go up my loft tommorow if i have time and look for my lego casue i'm sure i've seen it up there a few times and i wonder what bits and pieces i have still.
I've always loved Lego. I remember having the space Monorail (6990) and loads of the earlyish space stuff, mostly Blacktron. I also had that exact Pirate Ship (6285) and the Forbidden Island base (6270). I remember getting this car for Xmas '88 and the JCB another year. Currently, all my Lego is still packed in boxes. I have a couple of the small Star Wars mini-scenes, a Snow Speeder and a Tie Fighter that came with a Darth Vader with light-up saber. I also trooped into John Lewis the day they put the Indiana Jones stuff out. I got the smallest set with Indy and his Dad on the motorbike from The Last Crusade. I always get the Lego Advent Calendar every year, this year I have the Pirate one and the kids have the City one at thir Mum's. So I'm gonna get my boy a Pirate ship and his Mum's getting him the Police or Fire Station or something.
For some reason I've been more of a Technic fan since I was 10 and I also really, really wanted that Space Shuttle ave posted. I still do have this one which is really awesome: Got it for my bithday from my grandparents and I couldn't beleive my eyes when I opened the package.
I had that one, I think. I don't remember now, i thought the big UFO was more expensive. I like Legos simply because they're like one of the few toys that lets kids use their imaginations to make cool stuff. Kinda like how I like playing in Spore still.
=D its been ages since I see that set! (I have the saucer pieces lying around too!) Well I am a self proclaimed lego fan. But I am more into the Robotics and mechanical side of them. I also have a couple of regular sets like the 3d Yoda. Is anyone else into Mindstorms/Nxe? I currently have 2 mindstorms sets and 1 nxe one. I love them so much. Edit: lol I Also have 2 of the ones posted above. http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/7717/886211170478216thumb2.jpg and this one http://markl.hyperrealm.com/lego/8479-large.jpg
Is there some kind of online database for all the manuals I ve lost over the years? I m interested in 90's LEGO, including the limited edition stuff sold in aeroplanes. my favourite airport and the hub for my 10 LEGO aeroplanes. my first plane set:
These are the best ones I've found. The first two for reference and last for instructions if you've lost them. http://www.lugnet.com/ http://www.brickset.com/browse/ http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brickfactory/
Cheers mate, Coincidently, I ve been browsing brickset for about and hour now after finding it on google. Great site, but it seems to lack 3 of my sets, including a special one which included 2 18wheelers racing, complete with adjustable racing spoilers!
My son (5) and youngest daughter (9) are huge Lego fans. Back when I was a kid it was thee toy to own, and I'm happy to see that it remains part of the essentials of childhood. One afternoon, when I was about 12 years old, my Dad cleared out my room, removed every single toy I owned and threw them in the rubbish. The bin lorry arrived, collected it all and off it all went. That folks is not how to encourage your kids into respecting you lol. Suffice to say, I was mortified and my Mum didn't speak to my Dad for about a week. So, I didn't have any of my original Lego kits to hand down to my son, but I made sure I collected bits and pieces as and when I could. We now have huge dump bin of approximately 15-18Kgs in weight full of Lego. My only issue with it is having to tidy it all up afterwards... oh and the bare-foot-Lego-stomp, when you find a stray piece lying on the floor in the dark with your foot. That hurts!
Yes, funnily enough Lego is applicable in all languages ;-) They have a whole range of board games and I just got my youngest daughter one for her 9th birthday a few weeks back. Happy to report that they are actually good fun. Just don't let your kids put all the lego from the board game in with their normal lego or it gets frustrating. :noooo:
Could the mods delete this whole thread please? Each post brings me ever closer to starting a Lego collection, which my wallet can't handle. :crying:
