Done and disassembled already. He wanted to ship it to LegoLand, but no one would foot the bill for shipping. Damn shame, IMO. James May rules, he and Hammond need to ditch Clarkson and get their own show.
Lego Loco is awesome. I own it, and it's still a lotta fun, just like when I was 5 and running it on a faulty Pentium III Gateway with Windows ME. DON'T DENY THIS. :fresh:
not sure what i have left after my mom dropped the vacuum cleaner on my lego city while she was vacuuming the window, (in other words she wrecked it because it was time to "grow up") that was 3 years ago, i think i have some stuff left lemme charge my camera n take some pics....
I've wanted to get a Mindstorms kit since they released the first one years ago. Now that the new NXT 2.0 system is out I reckon I might get it. It's educational for the kids and my son has started playing with robots at school. It's something similar to those Turtle bots that plugged into a BBC Master, except a little more advanced and no old skool computers are required I've thought about using either the Lego Digital Designer or LDraw for prototyping models before I build them. Does anyone have any experience with any of the LDraw software for the Mac? Should I go for Bricksmith, Mac Brick CAD or something else?
When I was at school the people in my informatics course had the task to build stuff w/Mindstorms. The final exam which spread over 8 weeks or so was to let the robot run over a curvy track of 5 metres. Didn't work so well after all I guess, but it was damn fun to watch and play with these robots.
Am I lucky to still have all those? The yellow construction vehicle was one of my first LEGO Technic sets, and the Barcode Pilot was my last big LEGO set I got (at release of course). Still have all those picees mixed in one giant container. Some castles, trains, city mixed in, and there is lot's of fun to be had. also have one of those: sadly I never got the second one. Ah. I love the time period of 88 - 97 in LEGO-stuff.
LEGOs are awesome! I still remember that a friend of my mother used to live in the UK, and she came to Argentina every year during summer, so of course she bringed me a set of legos every year, and they used to come with lego guides, which had pictures of the different sets and they were awesome! However it was really sad because I couldn't have them so I spent a lot of time just looking at the pictures and imaging how cool they would be in real life.
Indeed, that was the Mario Zone. I always found it quite irritating that you had to enter a giant Mario through his penis (or ass, the game doesn't give us any details)
I've owned most of those sets posted, with the exception of the space ones. Up until last month most were still all assembled, but space was needed, so packed up into their boxes and instructions and too the attic they went. I now play with this: http://www.ldraw.org/ Ryan
Now you're talking. That and the Roamer, with its ladybird and bee shells. I wonder how many people have any idea what I'm talking about. Even Google image search doesn't seem to have anything much.
The old space stuff is the best, M-Tron, Blacktron II, Space Police, Ice Planet, Spyrius...all where it's at, the Aquazone/Aquashark materials were pretty spiffy a well. The crown jewels of my kits would have to be: And of course, who can forget SLIZERS!! Still got them all, none of this Bionicle nonsense .
Did anyone have a subscription to LEGO magazine? I remember seeing and wishing I could get a lot of the sets posted here (like in g1337's first post) featured in them.
British TV presenter, James May (of Top Gear Fame) built a real 2 story Lego House and lived in it. Not only was the house made of Lego but also all the furniture. It was part of his James May's Toy Stories series. Well worth checking out if you can find it on the net. Yakumo
