I'm not sure why it would make a difference. I'll throw on bin/raw copy and see if I get the same error. I also defrag my drive after I copy files, but i doubt that would make a difference.

UPDATE.. I was able to order a USB GDEMU - He was kind enough to let me order one. I also ordered a FZ-1 EMU as well for my 3do so I got both coming...

Sweet. He just told me "wait a few days" so I would imagine maybe some formal pre-orders or something else might be opening up. That would be nifty.

Great product! I bet the front-end menu and container support will get better and better with time, too.

Feels like there is so much life and renewed interest in the Dreamcast now, it's awesome.

He told me to wait too when I first contacted him.. I ended up waiting 6 days, He contacted me today. I paid him Western Union. Since many others have as well figured I would roll the dice.

Honestly for me, It will allow me to finally put away the hundreds of disc's from 10+ years ago.
The ability to have a system that will allow me to have my entire collection at my finger tips on a single Drive is quite amazing for older systems like that.
We already have ODE for Xbox 360 and such... years down the line when we can get entire game collections on Drives for systems like 360 will be great. (not that we can't get close now with a few HDD's)
But My goal before i am 50 is to have all the CD systems from 3d0 to PS2 all with HDD or Solid memory loading and no more discs

Thanks for all the testing gentlemen!

Just curious, which tool do you use to convert a GDI to ISO ? And why would an ISO be better ?

It's converting the bin files to ISO.

    Track1.bin would be track1.iso.

Iso_maker is the tool, I just made a custom batch to do a lot more. Used to optimize the bin files.

Yes but it cost more, cost me 165€ but I preferred the security paypal gives.

The iso images are smaller... Here's more details about the container.

The optimize gdi script is found here: http://www.dc-swat.ru/download/dc/ds/4.0/ISO_Make_pack_v2.2.7z

You cannot convert cdi images to gdi. You must start off with a gdi image.

I've spoken with mnamo mutliple times and he plans on building in cdi support as well as multi disc support on the current hardware.

Thats good news, It'd be awesome to also be able to play stuff like Geist Force, Toejam and Earl amongst other things that are only on CDI format

Just tested this in bin/raw format and had zero issues. Played all the way through level one. I wonder if you got some type of corruption when you copied it over for whatever reason. I know our source files are the same so its not that.

Thanks for the info on the various formats, I think I will stick with GDI wherever possible, CDI was always a stopgap solution until one could make proper GDI dumps.

Did anyone manage to test SF Alpha (Zero JP) 3 ?

I think its my external 1TB USB HDD, the amps required are 800, I doubt the back USB is outputting that. (Works for most games, until I transferred them all over & it like no files)

So I transferred all the games to a new HDD & hopefully this has no issues.

Still does it on the new hdd, this one is USB2.0 only & It also crashed to the dashboard when playing Evil Twins, (PAL only) just as the boys went through the doors in the intro.

I hope to god this isnt a defective device :-(

Would also like to state its random, it may work but more times than not it doesn't.

^ try some games with a usb stick to eliminate power issues, if you don't get crashes then you know what to blame :)
