Nah it's just something she does when the pineapple needs a walk.

Sometimes the slipper wants to get out, too.

Hahaha, so funny. I wonder if she's nuts or thinks of it as art?

I dunno, she kind of looks like the kind of "eccentric" types you get around here, carrying two massive bags, overly thick clothing..

The sign on the back was something about concert tickets... I think to a boy band. I just got the picture and got out of there before she started vetting me for her cult. I probably would have joined.

mrs pineapple lady is hilarious!!!! I wonder what turned her to madness? DV? Drug? Sexual abuse as a child? Keep snapping her, maybe it can benefit from your wonderful candid snaps one day. Or maybe not, it could be an excentric billionaire. This is what is so mesmerising about your work, the photographs can be interpretation on so many levels, truly fascinating work, so keep up the good work!!!

Ps next time you speak to it, get it to put the pineapple on its head and the slipper in its mouth. Killer funny but with the tag 'silenced by society' it would be all arty, political and smart.

the hobo shots too, fantastic, to highlight their situations. If you are in the same situation one day, you might want a stranger to snap you when you are literally in the gutter.

Mr gaijin punch. Photo request. Go to a court house on a day of a sentencing of a child killer case and snap (in B&w of course)the parents and family. I read these cases are increasing THE WORLD NEEDS TO BE AWARE! You can be the one to help!!!!

    Great!

you could also, if you are luckysnap the remains of a train jumper with the title 'under pressure'. I read it is a common happening in Japan.

I have been looking through your back catalog of photography and I noticed none of white or black people. Why is that? There must be some living in the big cities? Why don't you try capturing them? Maybe a big group of Us service men sighting seeing off base? Im sure they wouldnt mind. Where you into photography during the soccer Japan World Cup? Did you take any candid photographs of European fans?

    Why just Japanese/asian subjects?

You what now? I would say you were being ridiculously sarcastic, but judging by your earlier posts, I'm not sure...

Many are Chinese. If you ever stepped foot in the cuntry you'd know that it's roughly 98.5% homogeneous. That means there's not a lot of westerners around, and the ones that are, I rarely get photos of, and of those, the photos actually have to pass a rather rigorous test to actually get posted. I think now I upload at best 8 frames from a 36-exposure roll. It's usually 4 or 5.

I tell you what though. You learn how to type some competent English and not make us work so hard to understand your ramblings, and I will post some more westerners. I actually did see a black construction worker yesterday. How fucking rare is that? He's probably the only one in the cuntry, and he was working in my neighborhood. However, it would not have been an interesting photo aesthetically, and only to a handful of people would it have any significance. I thought about it though.

Just make sure your Xmas wishes include doing away w/ Google Translate.

I'm sorry for my typings. I am dyslexic (a type of mental condition to) so I paint to express that is why your photographs inspire me and I can understand it.

As a parent of someone with a learning disorder, I can tell you that that is not your problem in the least.

@Yakumo: Nice video! Makes me miss eating out in Japan though :(

@Martin: Amazing shots, I especially loved the Snow Monkey & Cold Winter Air.

Was a bit different over our way at Christmas - 34 degrees C (93 degrees F), and last I saw it'll be over 40 tomorrow (104 deg F). Hopefully this year Feb won't get to 46 (114 deg F). Definitely get a bit jealous of the winter snows in the northern hemisphere this time of year when it stays hot for weeks without a break.
