What do you guys think of the

    Digital Camera RX100 II - DSCRX100M2 ?
Is it worth getting to replace my old Canon s95?

Meh, it's great. Such a wicked pose, she looks so cute.

The RX100 II is a brilliant little camera. Its quality should smash the s95... but what do you like to take photos of?

Every review I read of the camera, it's praised. My GF is thinking of getting an RX100 (version 1). They're smashing.

Yeah i bought the s95 when i first came to japan and it was getting good reviews way back then but of course its old technology.
i take pictures of everything ...all my trips i just use the s95.
close ups , long shots ..i have been meaning to make more cool portrait shots so hope it will do some decent depth of field (for a pocket).
I cant afford the Rx1 as id probably get a DSLR which i keep meaning to instead of it

Get the R7 Alpha. Interchangeable lenses... it probably does not have the build quality of a Canon or Nikon, but it is a step in the direction of the future... something Canon and Nikon haven't really figured out yet.

I'll admit, I'm not really interested in anything digital at the moment, but that's b/c I'm on a huge kick of enjoying things from simpler times. That and old glass is stunning & cheap. But if I was, I'll admit, i'm done w/ Canon I think. I sold all my EOS related stuff. Just nothing exciting coming out except more of the same but better.

I like the Asakusa one myself. I remember going there for the first time in 1997 and flipped out saying "Holly shit, it's the stage from World Heroes!". Can't say I've been there in the last 15 years though. It's probably just the same.

    Thanks man! :)

All of the photos were shot in the grounds of Asakusa Kannon; did you have a particular favourite?

The main crowd photo. I just love the colours and the detail of the far background compared to the foreground.

I really like the one of the boy looking at the flames too.

I'm so jealous , just been through the whole thread, I have loved everything Japanese since I was in school and first watched manga and started martial arts.
love the food and the culture , and the ladies. I would only dream of living there , but I can't speak any foreign language at all , and have no real qualifications apart from a F.L.T operators certificate .

really beautiful country your so lucky a lovely place for you and your lovely family.

    Tried some new film.

Digibase CN200. Cool colors (a bit unsaturated) but grainy as balls. Developing in a lab might give slightly better results, but I think it's a very grainy film to start with. Got 3 more rolls. Not sure where I'll use it.

And some Kodachrome EPP expired in the beautiful year of 1998. It was kept pretty well. I need to get a green filter to offset the magenta, but it can also work in the photos favor.

Is that Digibase CN200 made by AGFA? I would use a lot of AGFA items back in the day from film to audio and video tape. I'm surprised it's so grainy. Is it because of it being old stock?

I believe so, yeah. Digibase are branded by both Rollei and Agfa. I'll shoot another roll and have the lab do it and see how it compares. A lot of my C41 stuff came out grainy, but I mainly used shit film. :D Looking at others, it looks grainy.

    Here's a picture of a pussy, that's quite grainy.

This one wont' let me get the bb code. It's not as bad but still grainy.

And this one is really nice, and not grainy.

So yeah, gonna try the lab next. Color film usually has a fixed time (3:15) and temperature (37.8C). But some kits allow you to go colder for longer. I've heard of this helping the results a bit. It's a shame b/c I love the colors.
