Even if it means DLC, i can't believe how stupid they were of not having classic tracks like Apricot, Midfield, Seattle and Swiss Alps. And what about Valencia? They bought the rights to use it, ever since Tourist Trophy. They only used on that game! That's plain stupidity. Kazunori and PD need to be slapped in the face. To be honest, as good as the game might be, i hope it receives some bad reviews. The whole development of GT5, ever since the GTHD, was a mess. Some decisions they made from start, weren't really smart.
I wasn't all that happy with GT3 either, so it won't surprise me if GT5 isn't pure perfection. GT6 has higher expectations from me
I started losing faith when I learned that most of the cars won't have a damn cockpit view. Super detailed cockpits for some cars is nice and all but they should take care of the basics before adding extras like that.
I'm not talking about perfection, but about commom sense. GT3 didn't had as many cars as GT2 but it improved in many areas, including tracks, not only graphically. GT4 is a masterpiece, but GT3 was mindblowing when it arrived. Grand Canyon and El Capitan were playable in GT HD, in 2006! Why would they throw them into the garbage?! Valencia rights were acquired and only used in TT and GTPSP. Why would you travel to a circuit, take gazillion of pictures and make a 3d model of it (lots of work hours), just to use on two side projects?! Why would they left out Infineon now that they have the Nascar license?! Why would they left out Twin Ring Motegi now that they have the SuperGT licence? Also, why tracks from GT4 weren't converted? They were already playable in 1080i, would just need some re-texture in some areas. Apricot Hill and Midfield were people's favourites. Why would you remove classic tracks from the series!? Even if they release DLC, it won't fit in the game, as much of the Career mode / GT Life already has the events / tracks selected. Well that was a design choice from the GT HD days... GT HD would be separated in two, GT HD Classic and GT HD Premium. I have a video of a presentation somewhere if you want. We can discuss it's not a smart choice, but it's the one they choose since early stages of development. GT HD Classic would be basicly GT4 HD, including the tracks. My biggest problem is not the whole Standards vs. Premiums, but outdated car models. There's no new normal cars like the Scirocco, Mégane, and so on, but there's a damn new Daihatsu Midget. And a Premium that is! Kazunori is a fan of classic and historic cars, but there's no classic BMW's, Mercedes, Pontiac's, and so on. There are dozen Honda S2000 in the game, why would i want so many?! Again, the game is probably fantastic (just like previous), but i hope the reviewers talk a lot about the flaws. With a big competitor like Forza, Kazunori and PD need to be more focused. PS: Wanna know a huge flaw? They got the rights to use the Top Gear Test Track, Stig,... but there's no Suzuki Liana, Chevrolet Lacetti or Kia Cee'd in the game!!! Star in a reasonable price car ? No :banghead:
Well the japanese GT site has the release date for the 25th of Novemeber. Still I am looking forward to it and will be buying my copy on that day. It disappointing that some tracks are not in the game as well as the endless number of similar cars (do we really need 30 odd Subaru Imprezzas?) but it is still going to be the best racing game out there and as GT2 and GT4 improved on the previous games could we be really impressed with GT6? Although saying that, I bought my PS3 for the GT HD demo and that was nearly 4 years ago, I do have a horrible feeling the GT6 will appear as a release game on the PS4...
well the tracklist is not so bare... and there's trial mountain in so i guess i'm satisfied... also there's a track editor included or i'm wrong?
Yes. And for those worried about standard cars, they look great, better than everybody thinks. Still, i'll miss Infineon, El Capitan, Grand Canyon, Midfield and Apricot Hill Tracks.
I guess that's the most obvious explanation. They have taken out people's favourites, just to release them later as DLC. My guess is that they will release them either as a free DL, or you 'll have to pay 2-3 bucks per circuit. Well, i'm really dissapointed with Polyphony. First the Premium/Standard cars "apartheid", now the removed circuits. And now what, maybe oil change option DLC? ;-)
It's not set up to allow you to design exact circuit layouts as such, you just control certain parameters such as corner number and severity, track width and track 'theme', etc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piQdLrVE0UA
Game store in Greece (Plaisio) has retail copies in its warehouse. Will begin shipping preorders to customers on the 24th
According to GTPlanet.com, stores are receiving their shipments now. I would check local game shops (not corporate owned) as they will be more likely to break street date.
Can't wait! http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010...ismo-5-collectors-edition-unboxed/#more-40683 :drool:ray:
Can you actually play GT4 in 1080i? I had heard that Tourist Trophy had a 1080i mode, but when I played it it looked like a lower resolution scaled up - not true 1080i, in other words. Is GT4 like that, or is the game fully rendered in 1080i?
