I'd have to imagine that ASSEMbler himself has about a dozen of them laying around as well as a few different Yamaha drives about.

Mine seems to be giving me a lot of trouble lately and I can't quite figure out why. :crying:

At this point as much as I'd like a physical copy I'd love to play the game as well. Though now I have infinitely less free time to play games with given I have classes to deal with and monetary opportunists to attempt to exploit.

I think I still have a Yamaha F1 burner stowed away with the Disc T@2-function. That way the discs originally sent out by Assembler could be serialized if there is space left somewhere on the surface (you can use the unburnt space for images or text with this one)

I have a Yamaha CRW-F1 myself with the same functionality. Attempted to use the T@2 feature as well and it didn't seem to leave a mark. Might've had something to do with the fact that the CD-R I was using was a light green rather than the dark blue (or anything dark) that they recommend using.

Thing is my Yamaha seems to be a bit flaky but I can't tell if it's behavior is because of age, how it is supposed to function, the fact my IDE chipset is about 7 years newer than it was built for or any other of the massive list of variables I can come up with.

Anyone want to recommend me a Plextor?

@Ape: Yes, it worked best on the old Metal AZO Verbatim discs or the even older green dye Philips gold CD-Rs (the really old ones 4x or 8x speed). A shame really, but every Labelflash burner has the same capability for DVD-Rs.
I found some dual sided (not dual layer) DVD-Rs and regularly use them with great success - one side data, the other side a picture (since you can't get labelflash blanks any more).
Plus, the coating on the data side is usually tougher, so these are better protected than normal DVD-Rs since they have a thick plastic layer on both sides (the negative point is that they are slightly thicker, so they don't work in every slot-in drive).

Not sure what the issue is, go to a minor pressing company and get it done. I had no problems a decade ago when I did something similar.

Japan has a number of companies who offer this service to all of the doujin groups.

Shou in usa there's a monopoly, there's maybe three big places that own all the market and I was turned down by them.

I am now working with much smaller place.

I will, but by pm only. I wound up resorting to place that makes bootlegs for china town.
Basically the game will be pressed by the triads...

Let's just hope they just don't help themselves to a copy and start selling it in China Town. I wouldn't put it past them though.

I don't think there's much of a market anywhere for bootleg Dreamcast games. Anyone with a computer and a CD burner can make one themselves.

That has never stopped the Chinese. They'll rip and sell anything. Even audio CDs are still big for them yet anyone could make their own. I guess along with the cover, booklet and printed CD it can look real to the avarage joe.

^Yeah, although DC is a much older defunct system. Do you still see bootlegs of famicon, mega drive, or psx/saturn for sale regularly? Or is the focus more on recent systems (xbox, GC, PS3, Xbox 360)... that's where the most purchaser interest and potential for higher profit margin is imo. Won't stop them, sure, but it wouldn't be nearly as widespread as it could have been for a more contemporary or popular system.

You don't live in Asia or South America do you? Also, making pirate PS3 games is way too expensive.

Not to mention you would already need a modded Xbox 360 or PS3 in the first place to play said copies. If you already know how to do that, then why would you pay for somebody else to burn them?

I can see guys selling Dreamcast games at school they burnt, cause the system needs no mod chip to play backups, and many, many guys at my high school had a Dreamcast back in 2000-01.

I never knew about pirating the system till 2009 though, so I didn't really see or know about it going on, but I am sure it did back then, and at almost every High School in the country.

In our country you can buy already modded Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 Pirated Disc, sold in Russia at 490 RUR (about 16 USD)

As you can see, it's just a burned DVD+R DL disc in DVD case.
