Much more likely they will come on that shitty type of CD-R where the foil can peel/be scratched off the topside and monochrome photocopied manuals. No fucking about with pressing with those sorts when they can just cut corners - if you complain about it they may keep your data, money and break your thumbs so what can you do?

Haha that is awesome! Can you play on Xbox live with it?

My friends in Russia and Brazil and Argentina tell me these systems are extremely expensive, a PS3 in Brazil cost the equivalent of $1300 USD. Is this true?

    Dealing with seedy pirates probably isn't so good. You'll probably be ripped in any number of ways, with little recourse if you do. Good luck all the same! (^_^);

Dealing with pirates seems like a weird and really bad idea. Why not just burn and label them yourself?Or just release the data in a private torrent/ftp.Iam not trying to offend anyone but just overall seems like bad judgement.

they are, but not 1300, an official one 160gb is around 750 USD (R$1399), the 320gb is around 850 USD (R$1599), in the gray market, an 320gb cost around 500 USD (R$1000) or less

But in the lanch was R$1999, which was around 1300USD, sony doesn´t look for us with care, and their consoles are the most popular here.

Microsoft started since its official lanch to lanch some titles in portuguese, and now they are manufacturing the console and the games here, it will cost R$799 (410 USD) the 4gb, the 250gb will cost R$1.099,00 (520USD), and the new releases cost R$120 (65USD), gears of war for example, the first manufactured game here, cost this price, i' ve got hours before the midnight launch and its one of best seller in some stores.

Nintendo is just planning to manufacture wii here, but nothing concrete.

You can play on live, but be aware that you can be banned.

    In Russia, situation much better.

Microsoft launched Xbox360 officialy, we have Russian Xbox Live segment and most of games launched in russian language.
    Xbox360 4gb cost around 300 USD (9990 RUR), the 250gb will cost around 400 USD (13000 RUR), Xbox360 250gb Kinect bundle cost around 500 USD (16500 RUR)
Games cost around 20-90 USD (for example Gears of War 3 cost around 67 USD)

Sony also launched PS3 (and PSP too) oficially, with Russian PSN (PSN+) segment.
Most games launched in russian language.
PS3 slim 160gb cost around 365 USD (12000 RUR), the 320gb is around 430 USD (14000 RUR), PS3 slim 160gb Move Starter Pack bundle cost around 400 USD (13000 RUR).
    Games cost around 20-90 USD.

PSP-3008 cost around 215 USD (7000 RUR), PSP GО around 275 USD (9000 RUR), games 10-60 USD.

Wii cost around 215 USD (7000 RUR), games 10-80 USD. 3DS cost around 300 USD (9990 RUR).

Wow guys thanks for the info. Nice to see the price has gone down in Brazil and they are going to manufacture them there.

In the US all our games for 360 come from Mexico, US or Canada and some times Puerto Rico. Our systems are all produced in China however, Xbox 360 included.

I think it is interesting they chose to produce the systems there. I know the country is very capable of it, hell look at all the Sega Tec Toy stuff produced there, and the Zeebo. :)

As for the Russian stuff, that is also pretty awesome. They are a few dollars more expensive than over here, but I guess it is just the cheap nature America gets all the Asian electronics much cheaper than the rest of the world does, and possibly also shipping and handling.

they decided to manufacture here to have lower taxes.

Howerver sony games are pressed here, but the new titles cost R$199 (100USD), while microsoft put a fair price, even forza 4 will cost R$129 (65USD), sony is make a huge profit per game selled, this is ridiculous. Arvato games, the company who press microsoft games here even said that they can make profit for R$129, and that sony should lower their prices.

Haha, isn't this topic supposed to be about Geist Force? Every time I see a new post in this section, I come look to see if there's any news, but sadly, it's just people going off topic -cry-

Is any aspect of the game multiplayer? I know this is a prototype and that could be an explanation for why there would be none, but it would seem strange to have a Starfox 64 killer without any kind of multiplayer ;)

We love you for it though! If I hadn't had just had to spent quite a bit of money of bills, I'd send you a donation to help out, but this economy sucks.

Honestly though, the lengths you go through for this community is amazing, it's stuff like that that makes me want to keep logging in. The people here are truly epic, kind, usually polite, and helpful.

Can we still donate money for some copies of this game? I know a friend that I know would want a copy, and probably throw in $50 for a copy. I wouldn't mind throwing in some money as well for a copy.

I am sure you can sell most of those and make the money back. Just means you are out of pocket until you do.

500 is a lot... and I'm amazed (and pleased) by Assembler's financial generosity and commitment to the purpose of this site, and to this project. Geist Force may be the last very significant DC release.

    -it's 1st party (sega)
-it was made with the purpose of being a system showcase and system seller, rather than just cashing in on a movie license or being one of many ports to various consoles, or a quick port from the pc
-b/c of the first party nature, it was likely being worked on with people who were more intimately familiar with the hardware and how to push it than a 3rd party developer
-it vanished in 1999 so incredibly little is known about it

I know many in game aspects are unfinished, but how cool is it to essentially have a first party game for the DC released in 2011/2012. If the copies get pressed, I would gladly donate for a copy.
