Yeah... its pretty creepy when you have Ron Paul standing up against things the other politicians won't even mention. Its Ron Paul so... you know there's at least a nice chunk of truth in it, which is a bit scary.

 

Have you looked into it, or are you assuming? If you have looked into it, I wouldn't mind hearing your arguments against it, so I can be better informed as to what reality is.

 

How the hell would Americans ever allow it? Who would vote it in? Building a highway is in no way the same as joining 3 different nations into a shared mega country. Why is so much being spent on expanding the border wall/guard between Mexico and the US? Why are immigration and border checks becoming increasingly strict between Canada and the US?

American sentiment is xenophobic. No way would this ever happen. Improving trade has obvious benefits to the US, but uniting the 3 countries would never work. It's ridiculous.

 

Whatabout a shared currency? It's worked pretty good for Europe, and even Iceland wants to be part of it now that they're having problems. It's a great insurance, in many ways.

 

Oh well I would rather have my krone, compared to the Øvro. And yes I am against the EU, before you ask.

 

I would much rather have my krona too, but I'm quite pessimistic at the moment, if we don't unite our currencies to create a "super-krona" (like in the 1800's) it's probably best if we join the Euro. I voted for the Euro back in the days.

 

The Kalmar Union could work even today if it was called the Scandinavian crown union. Since Norway has its oil to keep some of the krone value up and running and Sweden does has its stuff. That could make the monetary union a good possibility and Denmark has its Maersk McKinney Møller to make the Danish part of the union strong.

 

Actually, the currency we use today, krona, is the product of a monetary union we had with Denmark in the 1800's. Eventually we split but in the beginning the krona was tied to each other. Norway of course was part of it being a dominion of Sweden. Imagine a unified currency in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Greenland, Iceland, we would cover an area as large as the rest of the EU.

They've been talk about the Amero for several years now, but the resistance in the American right would never allow that to happen. As it is, the American Dollar is the de facto currency for North America anyway (well, at the moment that is.)

That's one of those conspiracy theories you see on Alex Jones and such, that this whole thing has been engineered to get people to accept the Amero. Somehow I doubt it.

Do you know what pisses me off, that is the EU will pressure Ireland into another vote for the Lisbon treaty. Which is just like they did with some now ancient treaty, we voted no the last time. So fuck the Euro, and fuck the European union, but not the countries.
