That's what it is. I doubt he plans to make a 3rd Megadrive/Genesis cart after this if that's what you meant.

I think that spoonman was hinting at the possibility of a similar cart for the SNES.

He already said "no" for that question... He loves MD, that's it!

    Yeah, that's what I meant.

I must have missed where he said he wasn't going to make one.
Thats too bad. I would buy the "Mega" version for all the systems he makes them for.

I like to play a lot of games and eventually finish them so save states are an excellent feature for me. It's also kind of fun to create save states for favorite levels, secret sound test menus, or game endings. (It's almost a game in itself to mess around with that.)

The fast rom loading is also perfect for the same reason above.
And the internal sdhc slot makes more sense for someone with a full romset who doesn't update anymore and wants it to look likeva standard SNES cart with nothing sticking out of the top.

From what I've heard Pier Solar is heavily protected both against dumping and playing on emulators or programmable cart. Don't know any specifics but I doubt a team that made a game that big and that good would leave their work to be "easy prey" to piracy.

Even if it was, I would highly recommend against it. I believe this game is still being produced and I highly suggest supporting the company that makes it.

I would LOVE to see NES emulation. I want to use one with my XRGB setup, but RGB modding an NES looks incredibly daunting.

i actually like the look and feel of playing on the real hardware so i can't much understand the excitement about the save states... i rather prefer to see FM sound stuff for the sms game which completely cut the owning the real hardware to play those games properly.

really interested in the nes emulation especially for outputting the games on real rgb which is impossible with the real hardware

You are still paying it on original hardware even with save states. Maybe you meant play the game as it was intended to be played without save states. Either way I think its great feature, still get feel of playing on original hardware, but with modern saving.

I think savestates is a good idea. Many MD games have a sucky password save system. Unless your a complete genius and can remember your password without writing it down or spending the next 20 minutes memorising it then its a useful feature.

I too would prefer FM sound for SMS, but chances are we'll get both :)

I'm pretty sure you can buy kits that RGB mod Famicom consoles, but I know next to nothing about them.

There are kits that simplify the process somewhat but you still have to track down, and remove the PPU from a playchoice monitor board, or VS Duckhunt and Tennis ROMS and swap it in your system, among other things. Nobody's cracked the chip yet.

    expand that point please O___O
i thought the only method to have the rgb on famicom was using the PPU---
(which doesn't give a proper color palette anyway)

Yes, i meant playing like originally intended.
On real hardware you don't have the savestate feature you got with emu... which, in a way, ruins the game imo
of course i don't intend that feature like a cheat or something like that.. but see the point:
most MD game are built like small arcade game
the MD library is much more arcade oriented then the Super Nintendo one..
so you have game intended to be played in a single run which made the use of savestates completely nonsense.

Of course this rely on the player's choice on what usage do with this feature
to me it makes no difference (as i would still play the game without it)

So, on top of my wet dream there'was pretty much the things not "on board" yet
but anyway, every step forward improving the product is always appreciated ^_^

    @gray.fullbuster
Remember the password or ends up writing it on a piece of paper is part of the retroexperience you can got using this hardware.
Reminds me of my childwood ç___ç

I agree with you on the arcade style games, but its not a feature that you are forced to use. The fact is though a lot of us who grew up playing the Genesis/MD are now married, have jobs, kids, etc. For us this feature is very nice. So I don't see it as nonsense. Honestly I think it may be best feature of the Mega EverDrive.

You're right, it's the player who choose what to do with that feature, no doubt
I personally would enjoy something similar for the Snes which has a massive selection of Rpgs, and often gaining the next savespot in the game is just a metter of time, not ability and it would really be helpfull.
Still the MD has some quite and tough rpgs when this may come handy.

As i said, it wasn't on top of my wish list and considering that i already have an ED, i must admit, it is not a feature for what i'm sold.
FM Sound is, since expande the compatibility (sound wise)...

but this is a great IMHO
Still it's a great feature for the ones are going to buying it when it's available.
Again, every improvement is greatly welcome.

I personally would like some screenshots captures
    Krikzz is it possibile?

You need to take the proper PPU from an arcade game and swap it with the one in your NES.
