Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that give you the wrong palette and some games refuse to boot? I have seen RGB moddable clone NES consoles. Would it be possible to take the PPU from one of those?
I highly doubt you can take a chip from a clone unit. My understanding's that there's no "correct" pallet for the NES, the chips I listed earlier are the ideal ones for modding. The only game I'm aware of that won't boot is The Immortal.
What about the people who already have an ED and have paid for it? Oh well couldn't go wrong with this when it's out. And if a Mega Super Everdrive comes along with a new self made chip that runs all game chips I'd buy that too.
Some sort of courtesy deal where you can get the upgrade for cheaper than it would be for new buyers. That would mean though that everyone who brought the original and wants the new upgrade at the discount should post you proof of purchase like a photo of their Everdrive before the offer goes ahead and the user then sends the paypal for the value of the upgrade only whilst someone who doesn't have the original or can't provide photographic proof of it has to pay full price for a new order.
oh, i have old pentium3 somewhere in my larder, may be i should ask intel to replace it to core i7? ;-) if you really want to get mega ed, then just sell your edmd on the forum and here is your discount. but keep in mind that mega ed is expensive toy which will be cost around 150usd. it is not mass product, like mega ed
well, i afraid that chinese suppliers will not sell me parts for mega ed with discount. of course i can increase base price to +20 usd, for example, and then say to all with pride that i offer 20usd discount. guys cart cost 170, but only today and now, if you have edmd, then i will sell it for 150. but i don't want to play in stupid marketing games, in tv shops style :katamari:
I can't believe that there are some people complaining like you... KRIKzz is just a man! Not a big fuckin' company selling you shit all the time and making you happy with marketing tricks for idiots, like Nintendo always did. C'mon! Mega Everdrive worth what he said it worth. There are so many greedy ebay sellers offering lame repros for USD150.00, why should anyone complain about the Mega Everdrive price?
Just sell your current model on ebay. Someone will buy it. Don't forget, Krikzz is just 1 man, he isn't Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo.
And they're getting ever more difficult to obtain. With the current availability, there's little debate each PPU used is another gone from circulation. How often do you see them posted for sale even at places who specialize in the rarest of extreme retro-gaming obscurities? Yeah. Myself I balked getting the last one I'd spotted here... In retrospect a good thing though.
I'm not fond of destroying arcade boards myself, but I will if I have to. I wish someone would reverse-engineer the damn RGB chip already. OH:
Like Lum said, they're getting harder to find and due to that they're worth far more than you're likely willing to pay.
£90 - £100/$150 is a great price for the shear amount of new content. I may definitely be in for the upgrade. But then there is the matter of door insurance I don't ever want to pay £20 extra at the door just to get an American UPS parcel delivered ever again after the $175 Super Powerpac back in 2008. Thats a bummer as the features are worth the upgrade and I so want to buy this without the worry of the doggey extra con like costs brought on from our UK postal service but unfortunately I may not get to do so, but I will think about taking the risk although I don't particularly want to take a risk again. And agostinhobaroners I would say something about people like you that are rude but I don't want to because what I would say is so rude I'll get banned from here. I was only asking Kritzz a question and then you post a rude reply dude and I think £90 - £100 just happened to be a good price anyway I just don't wanna risk getting door insurance so thought I'd ask if there is any way to cut down the cost of the upgrade so I don't get no door insurance there is nothing wrong wish asking and the spammers like you don't get that and type disrespectful messages like you did then it's not on, what happened to straight non rude replys like what the good man Krittz written after you which was what I wanted to hear?!!!? Anyway what is the website for Mega Everdrive orders for safe keeping as I'm so tempted to just click a buy it now or pre order button although I'm obviously going to think about it first before going ahead with the click. Does it come pre packed in shell and case like the special DSP-1 edition of Super did or is it bare PCB? I don't have a Gamebit I have all the circle drivers but the important Gamebit one. I'm sure I'll come across a solution if it is a straight PCB edition like buying a cheap gamebit and whacking the new PCB into my current Everdrive shell anyway. If it comes with shell prepacked as part of the price wouldn't have to go though the hassle of waiting for the following month and hoping my PCB isn't dead before buying the Gamebit to open the old banger. I would sell the old one but I've got Aspergers so I'm not good at that type of task like getting a parcel delivered and wrapping it up. Too domestic so don't have a clue unless if people help me and I don't have no clue about importing to other countries neither so I just stick myself to buying stuff rather than selling as parcels is not in my strengths out of my strengths and weaknesses.
Snapshots work with Start and Mode by the looks of things in the video but what about if someone needs a pee break we need some type of normal pause. Would that be in the MS button using it for MD as well? My old Everdrive MS button was kinda dogey and reset a game quite a lot rather than pause it. Is this new Mega Everdrive V2 cart going to fix the resetting via MS pause button problem as reset on the actual Megadrive does that job already and I don't know why it did that with the V1 version cart even if you did press it a bit hard?
actually v1 have no reset problem, probably slot of your system in not very good condition, or contacts is dirty, so when you press the button, cart is stagger a bit and hangs or reset may appear. snapshot works by start + up/down
Do you plan on implementing 'flicker off' for NES emulation? Assuming the emulation is more or less accurate I'd actually prefer using the Genesis over an RGB modded NES. The flicker got pretty bad in some games. It's still consolized RGB.
Well having an entire NES in a SEGA cart is a plus. Will it play the SG-1000/3000 in Japanese mode on a region free switched Megadrive as well or are you not sure? Gameboy Green, Color and C64 are similar to the NES in hardware specs is it even possible to be able to create mappers and bios for those systems to work in the same emulator as well? Although it's already worth the extra cost in my book C64, Gameboy Green & Color mappers in the same emulator would make it even more desirable. Oh wait maybe the C64 is a bit over optimistic as it would need an entire on board SID chip on top of the FM already going to be available. Not enough room and will make cost even more expensive if it was. Forget that idea. Gameboy would probably be possible in this emulator though as that has sound identical to the NES with an 8-Bit Green or Colour scheme identical to NES to boot with plenty of exclusive non full sized NES console titles as well.
Spammer? Disrespectful? Who is the one here crying due to a selfish "door insurance" problem? WHAT???!!! Where did you get such "information"? Please, just let KRIKzz work on the project and post the updates whenever he wants...
