Lol I understand, but I am sure it does get frustrating with people asking questions like this over and over. He isn't keeping anything secret, every time he does something new he seems to post about or or make YouTube video of new feature.

I hope it is getting close to done. I really, REALLY need one for my project. Project "Sega Fusion Rising". I have a thread on this in the Sega General area. I am willing to pay more to get one sooner if possible. What would be really cool is if KRIKzz were able to make it possible to load CD system ROMS from the SD card. Granted, you would still need the CD add on for the extra processor to function right but this would help to save the laser and drive spindle from wear. I would pay DEARLY to have this added. With this addition, the Mega Ed would then be the ULTIMATE solution to the Genesis for playing just about any game out there from one device with the 32X and CD added of course.

Any chance of Atari 2600 emulation? Mega Drive uses the same plug for controllers and I think it would be awesome to play A2600 games on it using Atari pads (and dozens of other A2600 controllers), just like we do with SMS games.
All those classics: Pitfall, Enduro, Pole Position, Atlantis, Asteroids...
I know that newer consoles have emulators for that, but it would be so much more practical with Mega Everdrive and also to be able to use the original controllers with no need of adapters would be really neat!

Hi, I'm new at this forum and I'm still waiting for my first Everdrive to arrive. I know this thread is not about feature requesting but nice one would the the ability to play TASVIDEOS from emulators. Since It already has savestates, input recording should not be so hard.
    how about that Krikzz?

While TAS could work and I would be all over that, there is extra hardware that would be needed. The Everdrive would need to plug into the controller ports it will be playing from for one thing. Another would be issues with de-sync from changing frame rates. Another problem that extra hardware would be needed to fix. Perhaps if a system like the J-cart games have was used, it would be possible for the 2 controller plugs on them to be configured so as to output controller signal instead of taking them in and pass-through cables plug into the genesis controller ports. An FPGA or something like it can help to run the saved "movie" file and keep the game frame rate in sync with the movie frame rate. I think it would be possible. Another option is to use an Arduino and write some code for it to so this. Easy enough to wire it into the controllers and a few other places. One guy already did this on an original NES. Then again, since the Mega Everdrive might be getting an FPGA, it would be possible to do this with just some new coding. How about it KRIKzz? It might make a worthy future firmware update. I know I would be all over that and order a few of these Everdrives just for that...

Like the Turbo EverDrive, loading CD Roms is impossible, since both CD systems had added hardware that they ran on. I hope he adds 32X functionality though.

32X emulation would be cool, not sure how hard or possible it would be.

Might get an FPGA? There is no "might" about it. It uses a Cyclone II. Same as ED64.

My bad, didn't check the specs close enough. Don't know HOW I missed that one being a geeky redneck and all...

Did you not read where I said you would need the CD add on for loading games from the Everdrive? I CLEARLY said the device would still be needed because of the extra hardware. I stated this idea was to save the laser from wearing out, not to get rid of the CD system.

His point is that it doesn't work that way. You can't load CD games from the cartridge slot, the Genesis + Sega CD was never intended to work that way. Really in a sense flash carts are pretty dumb devices, all they do is give data to system. They can't make the original hardware do magical things.

What about just 32X pass through like the everdrive? I'm following along late to the dance on this one.

See? I may not know it all but I'm not dumb. I didn't say it was for sure to work, I stated it as an idea that could possibly work. As you can see, the master has spoken saying it MIGHT be possible. Not sure if it will be or not. Forgive me if I offended anyone here. I'm a bit of a jerk...:p

I still don't see how that's possible. The SEGACD is doing processing work which the Genesis cannot do. Wouldn't the Everdrive have to "talk" to the CD system?

i mean cd unit + main deck + everdrive. in theory it is possible, if all games works via bios, and don't touch cd drive directly.
