I know people are having fun speculating, but all he said was that it may be possible in theory. I would be happy to just see it load from SD card if he actually did it, talking about loading from external hard drives and all this jazz. I doubt its "just an extra line of code".
It might be easier to support SDXC and Sega CD music compression, than worry about hard drives. CD audio is one monstrous space hog.
So true. I have Sonic Cd in an emulator and more than half of the folder size is from the music files. And they are mp3 format too. As for the HDD idea, I was just commenting off of Veg's idea. I too would rather use SDXC since they are now up to 128 Gb and can theoretically go all the way out to 2 Tb. Surely some of the new ones in the near future will be enough space for every Genesis game ever made in every extension format. Since the SD technology doubles the card size, the next one will be 256 Gb for full size and 128 GB for the micro. Hopefully that would be enough space for everything.
Will we be able to pay off our preorder / have our mega everdrive shipped soon as it appears to be available from krikzz at this point (or are you still waiting for krikzz' shipment to you)
People say that, after flashed, you can overclock your Mega Drive and Everdrive MD will still be able to select "play game" and load it. Will Mega Everdrive work on an overclocked Mega Drive (10MHz-12MHz) (I know that modded systemd aren't officially supported, I'm just asking 'cause I want to overclock my Mega Drive)?
That's because KRIKzz is a jerk face and didn't wait for mine to arrive before he put his up for order. He wanted everything for himself! (j/k Igor :friendly_wink Seriously though, only once carts are complete and ready to ship will we issue e-mail notices of how and where to complete payments for pre-orders. We just posted this on FaceBook yesterday:
Final product? The product is not final because OS will probably always be evolving, at least for quite awhile. FM sound (if added) will be an OS update, its not a hardware thing and no it hasn't been added yet.
SMS FM not present in current OS, but i still want to make fm support. same as eeprom saves and nes emu. but implementation of this things is need a lot of time.i not promise that i will implement them all, but i really want to do that. agostinhobaroners i don't have overclocked system, so i can't check
No problem KRIKzz, thanks for your answer. Probably someone on Sega-16 will try it soon and we will know. I was just asking that 'cause if it doesn't work I'll keep my Everdrive MD with me even after buying the Mega Everdrive, just to play using overclock. Anyway, time will answer that... The new SMS mappers are already a great feature, KRIKzz. Good job! Several games. Super Hang-On - All the time. The first rom version (REV 00) has no frame limit so if you overclock you Genesis the game will run pretty fast. Using a 12MHz overclock it will run like the original arcade game in terms of speed sensation. WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game - with more than 2 fighters on screen (really bad with 4 fighters on screen). Sonic games - when Sonic loses lots of rings. Gain Ground - All the time. Crack Down - All the time, especially in the 2p mode. Lotus II RECS - All the time but mostly and badly in the 2p mode. OutRun - Several times during the races. ... For 90-95% the gains are minimal though... And you still can break the sound timing in several games... So it's more something for experimentation than a permanent static mod if you understand what I mean.
with mega ed the game genie/action replay codes on sms mode, Is it working? @agostinhobaroners with thunderforce IV there are less slower ?
I am thinking about getting this one but I got a simple question: if I want to play SMS games do I still need to take off 32x adapter? I hated having to take my 32x off to use power base converter because 32x blocked something that SMS game needed. TIA
I understand your question. However, again he has stated he does not support modified or over clocked systems. You asked him if it would work on an over clocked system publicly. I told you he doesn't support them. If he doesn't support them then why would he answer this question? Its not smart to answer it. You may think its a simple question, but what happens if he said "Yes it will work." Then you or someone else who reads the post buys a Mega EverDrive for their over clocked system and it doesn't work? Most likely someone will be complaining and want their money back. Maybe not you because you may understand the risk, but not everyone will. That's all I was stating.
Wow! this reply is so uncalled for. Stoneage just stated the legal implications on Krikzz answers. I don't understand your aggressive post. Either way, if you don't like people commenting or answering your posts, use the PM (Private Message) function of this forum.
Since you're satisfied; now you can shut up and let the thread keep going with more information and less drama.
