A few from last night Here are a few pics from last night You can read the story about 'em on my blog.
Hey Nitro! Holy crap man, Canon EF 800mm f/5.6L? Who has the kind of money for that? I could only dream of it. Awesome shot btw! Should try a 1080p video on a crop sensor body with 10x digital zoom.
I certainly don't have the money for the 800 F/5.6L - it, and the extenders are on loan to me from Canon. Thought of doing video, but it wouldn't really be useful to me. Just capturing the pixels is good enough. I was going to try with with a friend's 60D - I had some results with it but I liked the 5D mark II's performance better.
So lucky! And beautiful results! I recently got the EF-S 55-250mm, have been waiting to take video of the moon for over a week now but never had a clear night to get the shot. Would love to be able to take stills but I think that's something for the future when I've got more experience and can afford more glass.
nitro, kudos to you! loved the pics, i envy that you can rent lenses in your country! can you give me the shot details?
Wicked moon pics -- took some the other night. Hand held at 255mm. Totally suck of course! Here's a couple of pics Yoyogi Park Duck by gaijin_punch, on Flickr Pink Flower (2) by gaijin_punch, on Flickr
I just took some pictures of the local Japanese Garden today... Here's a Panorama I made (see link below for bigger image) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/215/japanoramalowres.jpg/
Just bringing this up as i noted that the game Battlefield 3 uses one of my photos, i don't really mind... actually it is a bit fun, i wonder how they found my photo. It is a photo from my arcade PCB collection webpage and it is the Konami Super Contra PCB that is used. Pic from the game: I dont remember exactly if anybody asked for permission to use it in this but i do get questions now and then from people who wants to use my arcade PCB pics

That's so cool! How did you find out about it? Did you actually play the game and notice it or did someone point it out to you (which would make me think why anyone would have drawn that connection who is not affiliated to your website)?
I have never played the game, it was another swedish arcade collector that first saw this several months ago in one of the trailers and mentioned that there was an Konami PCB in the game on a swedish arcade forum. I suspected it could been one of my pics but was not sure until yesterday when another arcade collector posted a more detailed pic (the one i posted above) that i could verify it as my photo. Also it then turned out another forum member actually knows the guy who did the graphics for BF3 and in particlar the one that added the PCB (he who added the PCB is not an arcade collector). It is ok by me that my photo is used but the graphician is now scared to loose his job because you can actually see the Konami logotype and reqested not to make it a big deal, unfortunatly i had already mentioned this here:shrug: (And also the whole swedish arcade game community knows this now)
