Metal Gear Solid 4 B Appears to be on the UK PSN store for free download. I have it downloading now. It doesn't appear to be on the US store yet. WOW! h: :dance:
it wont be on US store. Europe is open beta, Japan & US is invite beta (you can get an invite by pre-ordering or signing up on MGO website and be chozen). Also fyi the dl is up but the server is not. The beta starts friday (it was delayed due to tech issues).
the EUROPEAN beta was canceled. ONLY the european one. So once again, we get screwed up. They said they will do the beta "later on" we all know what "later on" means...
Right now the only impression with this beta is that Konami wasn't prepared at all for it. Getting the Konami ID was a pain in the ass, as the webpage gave continuous errors due to traffic. After trying to get the ID multiple times, if you managed to finish the proccess, then you had to struggle again with the page as the email confirmation wasn't sent correctly. It was supposed to start yesterday, but the only thing I got was some "unable to connect to server" error. I can understand all the server or ingame problems (it's a beta, after all), but the mess you had to go through to get the Konami ID was just stupid.
Personally, I would rather have this happen right now then at launch. I admit that the Konami ID is a retarded thing, though.
MGO was on the European PS store for a couple of days now. I must warn you, the update download length is a lifetime.
You're wrong. It is scheduled for THIS weekend and they are extending the end date to make up for it. If you download the update via peer-to-peer, it isn't so bad. It took me 1.5hrs at an average of 160kbps. Do it before the weekend and you're golden. We need a sticky MGSO Beta thread for Konami IDs.
Acutally you need the Gamer ID, Konami ID isn't used. Mine's spot7778 It had better happen this weekend, GTA is out on Tues and once I get into that it's going to be hard to pull myself away.

Your thread title is also slightly misleading. While MGS4 does come with Metal Gear Online (MGO) starter kit, MGO is actually more of a "stand-alone game" or addition. That is correct. In order to acquire a Konami ID, register by going to the ID site here: https://id.konami.net/ Your Konami ID cannot be the same as your Gamer ID, and only numbers can be used as your password for your Gamer ID (alphabets may be used for password in Konami ID). -SK
