I hope he dumps it and either release it as a bonus on one of his next games or just gives it to the internet.
    This is an amazing find!

I'd love to see if this still looks as good when in motion. I mean, there's gotta be a reason it wasn't released. Doesn't look like a size issue, because it eventually made it onto the GBA...?

Didn't think I'd see this come to light for some reason.

    Good stuff!

Not too much a mystery, they cancelled it because the 32bit generation of consoles was coming and the SNES was getting old. The time that was afforded to them by switching to Jaguar/PSX/Saturn let them work on more detailed artwork the SNES couldn't do, even though I love that pixel art. Let's not forget though that even when the project was moved to the then next-gen consoles, Rayman still was going to be similar to what you see in the SNES version.

I hope they go against the grain and release this somehow! After the Dream cart that Rareware found just going back into hiding after all that teasing, I have low hopes devs really care about making their old unreleased work that they're clearly proud of available for people to play. Plus Ubi Soft owns the rights to Rayman while I think this guy works elsewhere now, so that just complicates things.

Which means, unless he manages to inclue this as a bonus somewhere, there's no way we'll get our hands on it.
    That's...not that great actually

So what if he works with them? I dont think theres anyone that works at Ubisoft anymore that has anything to do with the original prototype except Ancel.

Do you think they'd care for it? Its obvious he found it at his house, look at the background in the pictures.
Lets just hope they wont ask it back and destroy it.

Yes, they would care. Whether they do anything is up to them.

Of course they would care. The legal hoops that he has to go through to do it right is a lot, but not impossible. It tooks the wonderful people at Volition some time to get Saints Row PSP out there, but they managed, but that involved talking with their lawyers. Another case where "Just dump it" isnt the proper solution, but what do I know?

I'd say thats always the solution but i would get banned so i will keep my mouth shut.
Also, the rayman in that magazine is run on the Jaguar, not the Snes. They used the early sprites in the beta as a placeholder as seen in the dumped rom.
