Some say it was all planned form the start, I wont fall that far down the conspiracy path, it is good to see gamer's are getting what they want and deserve whatever the reasons. Gee, how ever will Microsoft deliver the next gen experience and provide gamer's with what is best WITHOUT DRM, checking in etc? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE??????

As I said before I was switching to PS4 long before this mess becuase I was sick of seeing the PS3 getting exclusives that I wanted. From before that I was sick of seeing games go on PS2 that very well should have been on XBOX. Then it became obvious to me why, Japan could give two shits about XBOX. Even Western games are getting exclusive content just for Playstation games.

I'm still done. But it's nice to know that 5 years down the line if I want to come back to XBOX. I can.

 

I hope while you're skeptical of the Xbox one because it invades your privacy you make sure not to use every other application, utensil and w/e that also infringes your privacy.

I imagine the experience can't be good, most of the "freedom respecting" Linux distro's are a pain to use and im looking forward to your input on whether a VPN is enough and I should just go full TOR.

All that because Microsoft don't like the idea of seeing the Amazon Poll chart since PS4 has a incredible votes over than XBOXone. Every each votes for XBOXone is like 18 PS4.

Microsoft may have drop the DRM policy and blocked Used game but no match between Sony exclusive games, better spec hardware and £100 off. Quite frankly I don't see how Microsoft doing any good with gaming in the future from now while Sony actually focus on games and gamers at this point.

I won't feel guilty trying KI and Crimson Dragon Now. The only XBOX One games that really interest me. Project Spark is just Little Big Planet.
The only thing that changes is I won't insult people for being XBOX One. BUT we all know the ONLY reason Microsoft back peddled was Gamestop was going to refuse to carry
the XBOX One and Microsoft had no choice BUT to fix the DRM and Used games or risk complete failure. I'm also not 100% convinced Steve Balmer didn't threaten the entire XBOX Team with a massive ass kicking and possible termination...FROM THE PLANET unless they did something.

So yeah great day for Digital rights and an even playing feild is only going to benifit gamers and lead to creativity. But I don't think too much changes, the PS4 is going to get all the awesome exclusives like the PS2 and PS3 before it. But hey at least now I won't feel guilty going home in a few years.

Further lending to the idea that Microsoft haven't got a clue. They started with a concept to bring gaming into the future, were passionate about their policies and were confident they could bring gamers an experience they would want and love. So what happened to that then? So much for bringing gaming into the future, so much for being passionate about your policies and so much for being confident in your product. On one hand I'm happy that Microsoft are realizing they need to live in the now instead of trying to blast off into the future like they did with Windows 8, but on the other hand I probably respect them less for actually caving in and basically admitting that they have no idea what they're doing.

 

windows 8 was more of a blast into the past as far as im concerned it the whole metro concept is backwards.

 

Yeah it's not like I can't go home again now. There's a good chance now I'll end up with all 3. But that rests purely on what the PS4 does. Even before this bullshit I was ready to jump ship.

But now I have to keep my XBOX Live account active so I still have it IF I do come home.

But I do still have issue with the XBOX One, like the fact almost all the games don't look much better than 360 games. While what I saw of PS4 games are near pixar level (Knack and the Dark Sorcerer) I don't like that indies need to get a publisher to be on XBOX One when they can self publish on PS4. Kinect is a still a piece of shit too.

 

Not to mention, E3 Microsoft Games were running on PC which is three times more powerful than XBOXone. Microsoft fool me this one. I can't really tell that XBOX360 games does look better than XBOXone at this point. I like Ryse Son of Rome though.

 

Sony and Nintendo are still Superior 1st party developers. Though Nintendo is getting closer to Microsoft with the same old same old Status quo than Sony is.

Its good that Microshaft change their minds, yet I knew it would happen sooner or later. Every PS4 pre-order was average around 3-4 per day, yet the Xbox One was around 1, if that according to some retail sources and its losing money, which is a major blow for them and also having to compete with Sony.

However, it still does not change my mind about either console. I may give it a year or so and see how it pans out with firmware updates and hardware failures (if any), as both companies are not to be trusted. In addition, for the price you pay for either console with say 5-6 games, you may as well upgrade to a PC rig that will still out perform in many ways and be up-gradable. A few exclusives here and there on both systems but its not worth it at the moment when they are released.

Also Sony risking a new IP games. To keep all freshfor PS gamers. This is the reason I perfer Sony to begin with. I have no idea what Nintendo are up to since I don't follow with them. Super Nintendo was the last Console I played as a kid.

I wouldn't bother about PC, I have a high end PC gaming rig and I was disappointed to be honest. Unless your are a massive fan of Graphics experience

 

Why I have a touch OS on a non touch laptop is beyond me. I literally had to go out there and install 3rd party applications just so I could get adequate functionality from the machine that I used to have in Windows 7. Windows 8 without a touch monitor is like operating some Minority Report OS with your tongue, it's non intuitive, requires too much modification and is too far ahead of the times to support the technology. I honestly think most of this forward thinking stems from people like Bill Gates who live in their billion dollar mansions where you don't need keys and have conversations with lamps. "Xbox On!" I'm sure Bill Gates talks to the wall to do most of the things us normal people use our hands for. Truth is I'm not a billionaire and can't afford this much forward thinking, I want a games console because it plays games, not because it responds to my voice and lets me watch porn while I play Call of Duty.

Sorry for drifting a bit off topic into a rant, but this is the kind of thing that annoys me about these things... Microsoft seem to be one of those companies that are in over their heads and lost between the future and the now. Do you know what you're doing or not? Is it about the future of is it about the money? How can I trust your services if you don't even trust your self? Microsoft were lucky they caved in early and avoided another "Other OS" incident.

 

SOME PS3 games look better than 360 games so...yeah. Play Mortal Kombat on PS3 after playing it on 360 and you'll see what I mean. Not that MK Sucks on 360 at all.

Jet Set Radio is the otherside of that Coin, it looks better on 360 than it does on PS3.

I also want to say the Game might be a load of QTE shit. But Visually Ryse looks really good.

 

I'm surprised Microsoft actually listened, it seems like they were just going to ignore us and forge ahead. But it looks like they realized that would be suicide, and logic prevailed. Still, I don't think it will help them, people still aren't keen on Kinect being a requirement and there's probably going to be people who avoid the Xbone out of spite. Plus, it's the most expensive of the three consoles and history shows that it's the cheapest console that's the most successful.
