Microsoft Officially Backpedals on Xbox One DRM Policies

I'm glad Microsoft saw the writing and did the right thing but I won't praise them for doing what they should have done in the first place. I am also glad that I'll be able to get an Xbox one now. I still don't like the must have Kinnect situation but it is something I can live with since I'jj simply cut the physical wires to the cam and mic.

I do wonder though who will be "moving on" from the company within the next few months.

 

So those who are getting an XBOX one after all what games appeal to you? on the Games Front, I'm still leaning towards Sony, KI and Crimson Dragon are the only games that look worth my time. Ryse only LOOKS good, might play like shit. So what are you looking forward to on XBOX One?

 

As far as exclusives the big one for me is Forza.

 

I tried Forza 4 and YES it was a fun game but I felt like the game held my hand too much I was winning races left and right and there never felt like there was a chance I'd lose the race or even come in second at anytime. Unlike say, Ridge Racer where there's always that tension that I WON'T win the race until the very end.

I like the Top Gear bits in Forza though.

But for me unless there's tension in a racing game, it doesn't appeal to me, that's why I love racers like F-Zero and Ridge Racer so much the threat of losing even at the very end is always there and it's not there in Forza.

Will Forza 5 change this? I'm thinking yes IF the Cloud AI is still implemented.

 

Still not getting it until I have a LOT of money to waste. Even without the obviously obnoxious terms, I'm making this switch because it's the little things about the PS4 that make it a better (imo) and cheaper console.

 

My Week as a PS3 Owner has been some of the most fun I've had with a console in a LONG LONG TIME. I'm glad I made the switch but now I won't feel guilty turning my 360 on again.

But now that all this bullshit is over I hope we can consentrate on games I feel we might be on the verge of the most creative era in games since the 32 bit era.

It's the lack of rubberband AI in games today. It doesn't happen any more, and games are more balanced, before you could be laps ahead but in the last corner the AI will overtake you. Play any arcade racer from the 90's and you'll know what I'm getting at.

Ported? Were the games being developed for PS4 and then being ported to XBO? I'm not really sure what you mean. Wouldn't that essentially mean Microsoft demoed a PS4 game and passed it off an an XBO game?

I really liked Alan Wake, so Quantum Break interest me, though there are next to no details. Dead Rising 3 looks impressive and fun.

 

So... I guess via retcon MS won E3 now? They certainly had a better game line-up than Sony.


As for what I'll be getting (and would have gotten regardless of the DRM):
Crimson Dragon, Killer Instinct, Quantum Break, D4, Dead Rising 3 (I enjoyed the first one alright, though it certainly had a plethora of flaws; never played the second), and I'll likely give that Titan game a shot, just to have a shiny FPS on my new system.

Since I don't feel guilty turning my 360 on now. (I just need to figure out where to plug it in) I might give Alan Wake a go. Sony or Microsoft Sony still won E3 in my opinion they were the ones to force this change on Microsoft and Knack looks fun as all fucking hell. The Order looks like a great new IP, Killzone still blows me away. D4 didn't wow me, Titanfall looked cool but BARELY better than a 360 game. That Insomniac game looked alright. But I'd be willing to bet all these games will be forgotten about once Halo 5 and Gears 4 hit.

I retain that the only XBOX ONE games that interest me now are Ryse, KI and Crimson Dragon.

And even then can Crimson Dragon be anywhere near the perfection that is Panzer Dragoon Zewi?

I really liked Orta too but Zwei is my favorite.

 

If you understand the plot of Saga then you understand that Orta is a retarded abomination that should not exist.

I used to rant about this back when Orta came out, and I remember everyone saying that Smilebit had people from Team Andromeda, so despite it lacking Futatsugi surely they knew the plot and blah blah blah.

Then 1UP does an interview with Futatsugi and he's like, "Yeah, I wish they wouldn't have tried to continue the story of Saga... that was dumb" (in a nice Japanese way of course), and then he proceeded to detail his vision of a sequel to Saga, which rightly had nothing to do with dragons because there wasn't a reason for them to exist anymore.

As a hardcore PD fan... I hate Orta. I hate that abomination with a passion. Oh, "AzelfoundEdge'sDNAintheastralplaneandmadeadaughter", get the fuck out of here with that stupid shit. And Sestren narrates the story? Fuck you Sega. Fuck you for that and for giving NiGHTS dialogue. Fuckin'... franchise butchers.
