Microsoft Officially Backpedals on Xbox One DRM Policies

I have better questions:

Does he have a cell phone?

Does he have a GPS?

Does he have a credit card?

Does he have a bank account?

 

lol....people forget that the majority of humans own devices that may invade privacy...still bitching about the Kinect? Either way, nice to know MS isn't going the DRM route...I guess i'll have to pick up both since I liked all the games each had to offer...

 

It's nice that Microshaft fixed the DRM issue, but the system does not appeal to me. I loved the 360, but this new system does not click.

 

Well I'm a gamer...I'm not loyal to companies for any reason because in the end, I love games. So while fanboys sit and fight over pointless console wars, i'll be enjoying my Wii U, PS4, and X1 to the fullest....Besides, theres far too many sony fanboys around and they forget Sony screwed us over with the one thing that can affect each and every one of us maybe 5-10 years from now. Our identities. As much as these fanboys like to neglect that or say "it's not a big deal", it actually is. I've seen what identity theft can do and I hope it never happens to anyone. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Hate all you want, Nintendo has never screwed me over.

 

im in china right now, and you know what? Im less afraid here then I am in Europe, here I know they check my skype, phonecalls, internet and stuff if im not against them (china, politics and stuff). and by posting this they might follow me, sometimes random websites gets blocked, cant reach Fb or twitter normaly. But hey, use a VPN like all other Chinese do here, my best friends here all have fb, they use vpn's everywhere.

You know why and what the Chinese government is tracking, and they will view and listen to whatever you say, just keep the topic off the well known parts like Taiwan.
What is Europe, USA or Australia monitoring? what to they record? and why? for how long? Kinect or not, I keep my talking and public thinking clean of "dangerous" topics, and when you want to talk about it, go somewhere save or post on a free wifi acces point (Also exists in china i discovered, star bugs, McDonalds) anyway I think MS is crazy by backpedaling, they should have keep ground. Now I have to wait longer for my cloud stored games and keeping my old lovely 360 is less important now (only because there is no backwards compatibility we keep em right?)

So, in the end the whole "game sharing" was just a full game trial. Honestly, i don't understand why they can't keep doing that just because they got rid of the DRM and mandatory online. The PS4 OS shows what games your friends recently bought (when you decided to get online, that is)

I don't see how they can't give 2 "full game trial licenses" when you buy a digital / game disc. As soon as the game starts starts, the console would register 2 tickets to be gifted. They already have to "install" the trophy list / achievements, adding 2 tickets to the message system wouldn''t be something difficult to make.

 

GPS navigator is a receiver it doesn't transmit a thing. Mobile phones are different story, because they have TX module too. But you can always use older "dumb" pre-J2ME model which can't be controlled remotely at all.
But Kinect is a a high res camera with mandatory always on requirement.

Exactly. I hope all these people whining about privacy make sure to use 100% free and open source software and hardware.

 

Widows 7 is still on the Market for a reason.

It's funny though I knew microsoft would back peddle as they have responded to backlash in the past. Windows 98 SE, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are all the result of people being really really pissed off.

 

Well after all I did updated from Window XP to Window 7 on my High end PC gaming rig two months ago. Hardly touch my PC gaming since then, no interesting games to play with. I want to get rid of it soon as possible and get a normal laptop with window 8.

And why Windows 7 is still on the market ?

 

Better to get it right than never at all. If this Windows 8.1 has the UI of Windows 7 but keeps the basic groundwork then its fine. Windows 8 has significantly better SSD speeds from what I hear or something like that. This is why you hold off buying any product immediately.

Commercial use. Support for XP is ending soon and businesses. are probably moving to 7.

 

Windows 7 is still around due to Windows 8 backlash, Businesses won't work with that stupid Metero UI.

I do quite a bit of gaming on my laptop mostly doujin games and windows 7 does just the trick.

 

I've got to agree with GOH here Windows 7 is 10 times better than 8. Microsoft even knows it themselves which is why its still on the market, I mean even at my Uni they upgraded the machines from XP to 7 just this year completely missing 8 out.

I gave the link a read and saw this? Xbox One architecture may be closer to Windows 7, than 8.

 

Same thing with the jump from XP to Vista. It was a no-brainer that XP was superior if you ever tried both of them.

Windows 7 is the bomb though. Mine runs smooth with minimal hassle on pretty dated hardware & only 2 gigs of ram.
XP is still great if you have low end systems, though.

Never tried Windows 8, but everything I saw about it looked useless for a developer with multiple compiling tools open, various folders, & other programs running while I have to quickly navigate shit. I know you can disable the metro UI, but everything else they added/tweaked doesn't cut it for me. Plus I am sure it takes up more memory for the system than 7 does, but I never looked into it.

 

Ever since I had 7 reinstalled in febuary It's been smooth running. Even on XP I had problems with blue screens and boot ups. Not on 7.

 

While this link is written in professional English and my english is not my first language and it sometimes does get difficult to understand. So that case Microsoft really did use PC as treating like XBOX 1 ? I mean they did mention that Microsoft E3 runs XBOX1 games on PC though. So another word XBOX 1 console will be downscale in graphic term which is nowhere near as it shown in E3

By the way, I got exactly same graphic card as it shown but mine is Phyix Geforce GTX 690.
