Its the first time I see pictures of the Hibino-consoles O_O
My god, this is really TEH item to get for a PCE collector!

Maybe the left one is lying in an "items from the past"-carton of a japanese student who once owned 6 pc engine loose games to have some fun and the other one has been thrown on a junkgard in 1997.

maybe one of them was eaten by some starving tourist?, they sure look like melted icecream to me :p pretty cool i guess.

about this whole "youre mental" thing my view is that anyone can spend their money on whatever they want, concidering the world we live in i dont understand how anyone could complain when its something as harmless as a videogamecartridge. (if i wasent a videogame collector myself I wouldnt care, I dont condone people with other expensive hobbies, even if I think theyre stupid)

in comparison €11000 will buy you a shitload of heroin, machineguns and 8year old thai whores... think about it.

Yakumo: yess, a blast from the past :), those forums has seen a lot of great and rare games, but actually are not as interesting as before, don't you think?

Wheela: Thanks. You fucking right, but this happens to all videogames... Kizuna is considered the most expensive game 4 the same reason... BTW I like the word "valuable" more than "expensive", I'll try to make the people of the commercial center to change the tag. Don't blame me if they don't, as they give me 3 days to talk whatever I want free of charge, and is a top 5 commercial here.

About the price, the prior Tetris was sold for 950.000y, is not that far from this one, considering it was 3,5 years ago.

Jamtex, no lying :) we will record in-live plug and play of the game in a projector, and make comparison between versions.

Sven666, you right too, but sadly we live in a world filled with people a lot less tolerant than you...

Good luck with the show. Keep us posted. Looking forward to it.

Although you are a bit off on the Tetris price. I hope the next doesn't sell for E11k or I'll be pissed.

I know of 5 that have sold in the last 5 years, perhaps the same copy changing hands, but still at least 5 sales! 6 with yours. And no doubt more I don't know of.

I assume that thread is MD's from NTSC (haven't been there for ages), that's one. My jp collector but has told me of two sales of approx 500,000 yen each over the years (known him since 2002 to put a timeframe on the sales..I'll see if he can offer proof..although I believe him lol). One on yahoo last year, bit faded, but offered with the whole JPMD set for about E11,000, set got broken up, tetris sold. And then this one from 2006 that makes me cry..(apologies to the site but I couldn't find the piccie on there just now, just the copy I've saved)

His kung-fu was good mate, but too much by far.

Hey Wheela I see you are into the game!, those 5 sales, if you can give me links, photos, names, anything I can use for the conference, would be kickass.

The pic you show here, the price could be real (maybe too little for a Sega Tetris of aprox 6-8 units worldwide), but the sticker seems to me a little strange, looking it closely, should not it be bended at the right, or have any waves or someyhing? it's not too straight?

If you can tell me from which store it is so I can contact them to confirm it, or a date, or if someone here can translate the text, etc. Also you can tell me you made this pic, so if it is not from a web, I will believe it too and I'll use you nick as respected collector in the conference if you allow me.

I would be very happy if we can make a good report of it, I don't matter if I paid it overpriced or not, but I'm very interested in the story of this game.

EDIT: Oooh! I've read all your post, now I can assure you the yahoo MD Tetris you speak of was not sold, the lot was not broken, I talked directly with the owner, I have his yahoo id and his mails too. The lot was never sold and the seller dont wanted to broke the lot for sure (believeme I made an offer of more than 3000€). He was selling a Sega sonic arcade machine too in the lot. I have pics. And yes, was faded.

Here the trimmed pic (I hope to buy this arcade machine someday lol):

Fairplay on the yahoo one. I thought he'd split it up in yahoo sales.

I'm sure the piccie I posted is legit. I just dug through some emails and it was sent to me in Feb 06 by a member here who had taken it a couple of months earlier when in Japan. I also sent it to a jp mate who said it was legit. Shop is Mandarake he said.

Having had a quick look at the emails on that one it seems the discussion was as follows..I only got that piccie as me and the other chap were talking rare games and I mentioned an 800,000 yen tetris I'd seen. He said I was crazy, he'd seen this one (ie the piccie) for 262k and one on yahoo for 273k.

So that makes 2 more lol. (I don't think 6-8 is at all accurate tbh...I have piccies of 6 different copies as is...and I'm told there are at least 20 known..with oh so persistent rumours of a big stash that just keep coming back..fingers crossed.) Juste is a good person to ask perhaps.

But hey, we've all had that rush of blood to the head and we've all paid much more than we should for stuff. Don't stress about it mate, enjoy the item instead. You must be over the moon.

YEs, the 20 copies thing was said by myself in this forum :), and the seller of the auction was the one that told me... but the one who sold mine tell me that's totally untrue... only 6 to 8...bah, however no proof of any kind in both cases... As always.

Oh my god, if that sticker is legit it was the buy of the year! What a lucky person he was. You know in which Mandarake the pic was taken? I'll try to confirm that there. Or if you can send me a pm with the contact of the owner of the pic, I'll be so happy to chat with him, would be very interesting.

I never seen a 273k Tetris on yahoo and it's the first time I heard about that, cannot find a clue in the yahoo historic, and me and a friend of mine made almost a daily quicksearch of it... Maybe someone at this or other forums have seen it too? Is a hot item!

    Info!!! info!!!

    Thanks Wheela for your help!

Re 20...only coz I told you that in a pm lol! Probably, maybe, possibly :110:
Although its a figure I've heard many places. But I've heard 6-8 many times as well..although its not surprising a seller would suggest that tbh. As you say who's to know. There definitely is a nagging rumour of a stash of these...but I can fart 50 pound notes, or so you'd believe, if you'd bumped into me one particularly smashed evening. Certainly numerous sales have occured over the years though, 1 a year I'd say.

He just said a pic from Aki. YGPM.

This copy was indeed from Mandarake(we can see it on the price tag).Yet this low price is weird. It's difficult to read what's written on the blue label, maybe there were some defects.

The strange thing is that this picture was also posted by Kosugi on Gamekult.com around 3 years ago if I remember well.Wheelaa,do you know if your friend has diffused his picture on the net?

I imagine so. He documents lots of rare pce stuff mostly, but he always good for info on the web.

Condition says abb so not mint, but nice. Price isn't wierd though, just what it would sell for at the time I guess. There's sod all MD costing over e500, its not like neo with many pricey items, nor proto, dev etc, nor is the market so inflated or so full of fanatics. It seems cheap today, but E11k still seems very expensive. Extremes if you like.

Don't Manadarake have a wants list, where they say what they'd buy X or Y for? I've heard they offer 200k yen for a copy of tetris. Add a mega mark up they'd sell it now for 600k yen?

As I've said in other forums, I'll buy all the 8 Tetris, I'll wear a custome of Donald Duck and then I'll destroy them all but one, and upload the video to youtube.

The Donald Duck custome is essential.

Then I'll put the last MD Tetris in Ebay for 546.734.523.547.235.363.454€

That's a joke right? YOu can't be serious in doing such a horrible thing.

    Yakumo

PS: Someone somewhere sent me really good pictures of the original Mega Drive Tetris including box, cart and instruction shots. THen I got a bloody virus that F*cked up all images on the PC. This was a bout 4 years ago. I wish I could remember who sent them.

@Wheelaa:In their current online buying list the purchase prise for Tetris MD is "to be decided":
    http://www.mandarake.co.jp/information/buy/nkn/galaxy/game/mgd.html

But I guess you're right,I also remember of a purchase price of 200 000 yens some times ago.

@Mundocombo:There is a famous story about a stamp collector who've done that sort of thing. He bought the 2 known specimens remaining of a really really sought-after and pricey stamp and he burnt one of the two. Thus he was sure to be the only one in the world to have this stamp :-/

Man how stupid do you have to be to come to that conclusion. Unless the one you burn isn't yours (Now that would be funny) you ALREADY have them all.

    DOH!!

as for the kizuna encounter, I know the seller of the last copy (on ebay.com.au)
got all the pics from the auction + one that wasn't included in the auction if you're interested.
I think it sold for 10 000$ which was around 10 000 euros by that time.
But the 14 500 $ adol talked about reminds me of something so I'm wondering if it wasn't 14500 $ (=14500 euros four years ago)
    I'll ask the seller.

Last AES Euro Kizuna Encounter sold on eBay.com to zcamaro28 (sp?) for $17,000-$17,500. That was the most expensive video game cartridge to be sold at auction.

Most expensive NWC gold on auction (eBay) went for $8100 to bunnyboy about a year and a half ago.

NWC golds SOLD privately have went for $9000, and $10,000 respectively this year.

SNES Campus Challenge was sold privately for $10,000 last year.
