I have Full Boost not the original one. It could be possible that it only works on specific revision of 369 but we fixed those checks now.
I'm a bit lost. Again Full boost was released as an upgrade kit. Also I though you had Original (Extreme Vs/GEX100-1-ST-HDD0-A) as it's on your list.
Actually the sys357/369 aren't devkits, they are closer to debugging stations since they use regular playstation 3 motherboard with a special target id (0xA0) hooked to some fancy JVS board, it's not a true debugging station either in the sense that the Arcade firmwares don't have the deci3 debugger supplied (at least not that I know of). On the other end, the 0xA0 target is one of the few for which appldr allows to run fself. I really wonder what systems devs used to develop the arcade games, perhaps they simply use a system357/369 with a special debugging firmware, that's probably how I'd do it. Enabling debugging could be done by patching the DEX firmware to run on GEX. (you would need to flash a coreos that's below 3.60 using a NOR/NAND programmer, at least if you updated past the 3.55 version) These progresses are really impressive by the way.
Account Error 2 is no more, also language swapped from Japanese to English. FYI: all who have this version of the game have this limit, it takes 1000 credits (some regions 2000) to show up Account error. So you think that you've played like 200-300 games with your friends (That can take months unless you run an arcade) it won't happen to you. Well it eventually will. There is NO BOARD anywhere that doesn't have this limit, it's actually coded in.
but you still can use XMB copy mp3/movie to HDD on 357/359 ? if yes, it still a good chance can get real hdd data out.
I ripped all HDDs I have already, cannot you read the first post? You can't get in with any dongles or even use the XMB. Deep knowledge of PPC and coreos PS3 reverse engineering is required.
of coz i read it,i know you did dump. i have few step want to know system 357/359 with out dongle , only plug hdd , it will boot to XMB ? can you do coredump in system 357/359? i want to know is USB dongle for boot up HDD , or it for boot eboot i don't know code , but i have DEX and DECR 357 game i only have Takken 6 , because my 357 is dead,so can not dump and test any more,
I also want to know lot of things, sadly I had to find out about them myself for last 2 months. Anyways now I got full HDD access to 357 and 369. 357A was really a nightmare, most of the things aren't documented in the psdevwiki and it has addional layer of encryption compared to old FAT PS3 model. So I had to write my own tool to take care of this too. (linux c++) Also the tools that are on psdevwiki were all broken and very badly coded(buggy), literally had to recode them. Not to mention had to reverse engineer keys to even mount the hdd after recoding everything (4x 256bit key) Anyways, now mount works perfectly and today I finally ran Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited succesfully on 357A after patching bunch of 369 related checks. Also I can now repair dongles and make replacement dongles. Also make replacement HDDs as I have coded calculator/generator for HDD protection checksum file which is unique to each HDD. So currently I can run 357A/C games on 369 and 369 games on 357A/C. Pretty cool, will post videos later.
Great work man. Are you finding any general differences in TT2 when on a 357? Also, any chance you'll crack Gundam Ex Vs to run offline? =D
I need to solder my joysticks to my JVS harness before I can work more on Gundam If you have GEL version that is only live monitor and forever waits for other connections. GEX version is full game and I think you can turn it offline only from test menu. Not sure as I need joystick to fiddle around in test menu. I have guns only at the moment. There is absolutely no difference if you run it on 357 or 369. Just need to patch bunch of checks to make it run on 357.
I have a full HDD set from the first one (Extreme Vs) so I have both LM & Game. Interesting/odd. You would think there is some reason for the revision and number change. At least some early 246 games acted differently when played on a 256 in 256 mode (like SC2 plays with different timing in the music).
357A = PS3 Phat 256mb NAND (With extra crypto on HDD) 357C = PS3 Phat NOR 369 = PS3 Slim NOR So each are same on GPU/CPU power so there isn't really any difference in performance side. Reason why 357 games won't run on 369 and via verse is because of system specific checks and they use different HDD crypto.
