NEW Sonic Generations demo

Well, on any sidescrolling game on and LCD is going to get ghosting of some kind regardless of whether the framerate tanks or not. Some TV's will be better than others.
But almost all LCD TV's have ghosting of some kind. Sidescrolling games tend to bring out the worst of it though.

 

I have to disagree with that. None of my Saturn or low resolution Mega Drive games ghost or even 2D downloaded games on the 360 ghost. Unless you have a cheap brand TV or one of the older flat pannel TVs you won't get ghosting. The issue with Sonic Generations has nothing to do with the TV just poor frame rates.

It does seems to run at 30fps, while modern sonic seems to run at 60fps (or 30 with a clever use of motion blur).
With 3dtv mode enabled, modern sonic is unplayable. Framerate drops A LOT.

 

Anyone thats worrying about slow down I haven't experienced any with the full retail game so far on the 360. So far its the best Sonic game in years. Fans will be pleased with the classic levels as well as the new modern Sonic ones. The classic Sonic music has been remastered perfectly so far. Not got very far into the game but I'm loving it! Only thing that's let it down is the poor voice acting for the modern characters. Modern Sonic kind of sounds similar to the Sonic Adventure voice but Tails still sounds too childish in my opinion. Much preferred Tails voice actor in Sonic Adventure but its not that big of a deal. Recommend anyone to pick it up when its out. Sorry for the short review and for bad wording its pretty late here and uni work is killing me! aha

 

Due to the crapstastic nature of recent sonic games I'm in a wait-n-see mode with this one

EDIT: that IGN gave this game 8.5 while SA2 got 9.5 its a bad sign.

Except for some loops and parts that were scripted SA wasnt on rails at all, you're thinking of sonic colors...

 

I liked Sonic Adventure 2 (though I'd say it was closer to an 8.5)

 

IGN? Most of those sites are full of a bunch of wannabes. I trust my friends, that's it when it comes to games.

 

I know, but I think generations was hyped out of proportion, much like every sonic game since heroes

I try to be optimistic at times, but then again it's been like 6 total disappointments in a row

Any other franchise got a serious reboot after 2 or 3 fuckups, I think Sega stopped trying after unleashed...

 

Sonic Generations might be the first Sonic game i buy ever since Sonic 3! I'm gonna wait some weeks and read opinions, reviews,... If it doesn't convince me, i'll wait till the price drops.

Oh my god that's awesome. My collectors edition arrives tomorrow. Can't wait.

 

You luck bastards!!! In Japan we just get a shitty soundtrack with our so called special edition and then we have to wait until December for it!

UK collectors edition arrived today. Never seen a game so beautifully presented.

 

True, true. I guess I just haven't been paying attention to the hype. I haven't even had a chance to try the demo.
