Anyone else watched it? It was at 4 AM where I am (GMT+0) so I just watched a few highlights when I woke up, will watch the full presentation later.

    IGN highlights:

Any thoughts? I was a bit underwhelmed, but anyhow liked most of it because of my blind love for Nintendo, although if I have to say a few "negative" things:

Zelda Breath of the Wild - I still can't understand, for the love of Miyamoto and all that is holy, why they have this horrible voice over...

    Splatoon 2 / ARMS
    - it is kinda cute Nintendo trying to enter the eSports scene, feels like they are pushing it too hard, although I can't speak of Splatoon's success or not, tried it a bit and did not like it much but it looks like it generated a nice competitive scene.

Super Mario Odyssey - looks nice, except for the "real world" zone/level/map

Kudos to Nintendo for the parental controls mobile app, looks like a really handy thing for parents, instead of having to set up everything in the console directly.

I've goto say I'm really disappointed. Very few games shown and what they did really didn't grab my attention. I cant justify buying the console for mario alone.
The controllers when detached are just way too small to use and the analogue stick is far too close to the buttons in that orientation.
It doesn't seem like a particularly good handheld with the reported battery life and is just far too weak to really compete as a home console.

When I read things like voice chat requires a mobile phone and app and the monthly game with the paid online only being playable for that month (and only being a NES/SNES game), I cant help but think nintendo does not understand the modern gaming market at all, at least in the west. http://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/

I say this owning a NES, SNES, N64, GC, 2 Wiis, Wiiu, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, GBA, GBA SP AGS-001, 2 AGS-101s, GB Micro, DS fat, DS lite, 3DS xl and New 3DS XL, all owned since close to their launch. I wanted the presentation to get me excited for the release but it just reaffirmed my doubts.

Just reading now about the online service, free NES/SNES games every month (but looks like only for limited 1 month time use?). They never got right the online part.

I was slightly underwhelmed just for the few trailers I saw, but then though I must be getting too old and grumpy, I love Nintendo and will anyhow buy the system.

As for the size of the controllers and if they are comfortable, I can't say until trying it.

Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2 and Sanic Mania all looked cool. The online part really bummed me out. I may wait to get a Switch at the end of it's life cycle like i am for the wii u. That, or if there is a really good deal for one. If they amiibo or NES Classic the Switch stock, i definitely will just wait till the end of it's life cycle.

Difficult to judge well but I hate that character style - the same that last 3 or 4 "Tales of" has. "I love this world because you are in it" - pathetic. I want my "Id" or "Long ago" back with it's aura of mystery and hidden power, I want to see Jung's philosophy again but not a candy-like empty inside grid-like "@#%^" instead of it. Takahashi get tired or Nintendo's target is +6 again. I am not telling about adding some violence in it - I am not about it but when you know that this is the same man (and his wife) that made Xenogears and Xenoblade 1 you expect something more serios thing from him/them. There was few moments in the Xenoblade X like when we found the black gear/skell/doll in the jungle when I really were able to feel like "Hey, that world is a big and has it's secrets, the secrets I really want to know". But they were few.
I hope that I am wrong but Xenoblade X, these words in the trailer, that character style gives me some ground to lean my prediction. I really hope I'm wrong. Sorry, there should be a lot of mistakes in my text.

Here is what I think about this presentation :

    - I should have not woke up at 5 AM for this.
    - Pretty dissapointed too by the few amount of novelties.

    - You can use a Joycon to measure your Dick (can be interesting in Mario party games to know who will start playing first).

    - Mario and Zelda looks great, (even if they are not a surprise)
    - Region lock removal is great.
    - Curious to know more about the "HD" rumble feature

    - I know some people on this forum who plays video game when doing cardio ;) so the Arms game is made for them haha. But it doesn't look very attractive to me.

    - Xenoblade 2 looks pretty awesome.

    - Online will not be free. By looking at the presentation, the switch looks like a unit dedicated to famillies in general, so a paid online service will not be used by them. On the other side, Nintendo is looking to make you going out and play with friends (Up to 8 players !) so local gaming is still a good thing.

Pretty dissapointed by this presentation. Nintendo annoucement weren't that new and interesting. But I am still looking to buy it (the blue and red version).

We now need to know more about what game will be available at launch, as most games annouced are planned for the futur !

I don't know about this tbh.
The concept is nice, I kinda like that and always wished Sony would have done that with the Vita.

But the rest about the presentation and games lineup, feels a lot like Wii U. Without the heavy hitters from the 3rd Parties I don't see this thing going anywhere where the Wii U didn't was before.
Imo you need things like Resident Evil 7, Mass Effect Andromeda and all the multiplatform racers to become a viable option too choose between the three major consoles out there.
Now it looks again like a second / side console you get when the price is low enough ... if you are not a Nintendo Only Fanboy of course.

    > Region lock removal is great
Note that they said this is about a hardware region lock, they might still let you only run things from your account's region. Which would mean making multiple accounts and juggling multiple friends lists, not great but OK I guess.

Anyone notice the teeny tiny Wipeout/F-Zero looking bit in that "look-how-many-gaems-we-got"-montage towards the end? Can somebody identify what game that's going be? Did I miss an F-Zero announcement? (Unlikely, but a man can dream can't he :D)

    > You can use a Joycon to measure your Dick
You can have it massaged as well - in HD! Then do a before/after comparison, and share a screenshot of it with all your friends!

I first tought it was fast Fast Neo Racing, which was pretty good and yet available in a physcial version on Wii U. But it seems that this is a sequel :) And it looks indeed brillant !

Super Mario (Sonic) Adventure would have been a good name. Good to see unique concepts from Nintendo.. Oh wait SEGA beat you to that by 20 years nearly

Some of those shadow effects made me puke nearly straight glitchy lines? I can tell you now I won't pay £280 for this which has an underclocked CPU.

I think that the price point sounds a little high and the launch lineup sounds very limited. However, I am excited for this console. I haven't bought a Nintendo console since the GameCube but this got my attention. I think the new Mario title looks awesome, as well as the new Zelda. At this point I'm leaning towards a purchase.

The thumbnail for the Mario video looks like a slightly updated Sonic Adventure.

That's pretty much all I have to say about the switch after seeing all of this.
