This doesn't look good at all. Why would I want Mario in a real city, Sonic Adventure has done that and it sucked... Stick to Mushroom Kingdom or another fictional world for fuck sake Will probably get Zelda on the Wii U and that's about it Switch, no thank you
How many of us even own a Wii U anyway? I have two friends who own a Wii U and the rest of us shit on them for it relentlessly, but we're all buying the Switch.
All? Only people buying the Switch is for the fact of having it. I'm sure if you don't like Zelda you probably won't have much fun with it. Nintendo do the same shit all the time. Release a new console, with an old game with added "features". MK8 Deluxe could've had something more to make in enticing.
Yes, all of my friends that play games (30 or so). Most have placed preorders. I've never played a 3D Legend of Zelda game because I've never had much of a desire to, but Breath of the Wild looks amazing. So does Mario Odyssey.
Their next iteration of "online" is looking to smash the record for sucking b@!!$. That aside, if they can actually manage to sell COMPLETE games for $60 without all the BS day 1 downloads/patches/updates already on the storage media then they are leagues ahead of the competition. Games like Metroid Prime 3 would be a helluva lot better to play now without worry of accidentally separating the nunchuk.
I have read many times here that most of the annouced games will only be "upgraded" version of existing one, like the Mario Kart Deluxe. I do agree that it can be a bit upsetting. But when people who are saying this are also comparing the PS4 to the Switch, I just want to ask them to have a better look at the PS4 games. A huge part, yes, a huge part of them are upgraded version of games that were already on the previous generation of systems. The only original games were Driveclub, Knack and Killzone (if I remember right). So please keep this in mind before judging Nintendo upcoming games and comparing them to PS4 ones. Moreover, as everybody here know this, the Wii U hasn't been sold a lot, so these "deluxe" version of Wii U games will still be novelties for many people !
I agree. The Xbox One and PS4 had terrible launch line-ups, there was nothing to play but Battlefield 4 until Titanfall came out.
You underestimate the fanboys, fools and sheep. You could double the prices, add a dose of herpes to each sale, and they'd still lap it up. Noone does 'holier than thou' like a Nintendo fanboy....
I'm a Nintendo fan, but haven't purchased any of their consoles since Gamecube. This has me excited though. Nintendo has better IP's than their competition, hands down. If it is simply an underpowered shitty tablet, I would think that profit margins will be high for each unit sold. I understand everyone's skepticism regarding the new Mario game, but I have a feeling it will be similar to Wind Walter how everyone was appalled in the design until after it was released and played by people. My question is, the controllers are expensive, but when you buy the joycon controllers, do you essentially get 2 controllers when you purchase? Is each handle a controller? If that's the case then the price of the controllers isn't TOO BAD. I like the switch already better than the Wii and Wii U.
It's going to be extremely pricey in Europe, I was checking Gamestop Ireland and prices for games are between €50 (1, 2 Switch) to €75 (Zelda, Mario, etc.).
I did preorder it in the morning Then saw Tons of what would be budget games at full price Ports of WiiU games at full price Over priced console Expensive extra controllers Cancelled the preorder To bad they cant keep the machine a float Look at the WiiU Even if they will buy a mound of year old dung if it had the branding on it, Stick a Triforce on it and say it was Esponas
This. I'm hoping they re-release all the good games on the switch, so I don't have to buy a Wii-U. Also, is it just me, or does Mario Kart 8 Deluxe look like it actually has some useful battle tracks now?
So what's cheaper, some used Wii U with a stack of cheap, used games, or no console (assuming you bought a Switch already) plus the same stack of games as rereleases but at "new release" prices (you didn't expect them to be "new" and cheap, did you?)...? I guess in the end it all comes down the height of that stack.
It's not really about the cost, it's more about the space/convenience/best experience. The Wii U is cool in that you can take the game somewhere else in the house. The Switch is cool in that I could take it with me and play it on, say, the two hour ferry ride to Vancouver. I don't really want both, because my living room is already crowded with consoles. It's been said that the Wii U version of Zelda doesn't run as good as the Switch version, so it looks like the superior versions of the game will end up on the Switch, not to mention it will be the system being supported for the next few years whereas the Wii U is pretty much done. I get what your saying, and I even considered doing that. It's just I'd be buying the Wii U for literally like 3 or 4 games. While I wouldn't be buying a ton of Switch games either, I do like the features that particular console has. Mainly the play anywhere thing. I mean really, the thought it playing the new Zelda in my bush hammock in the summer sounds pretty damn sweet.
I did kinda skip the WiiU, it just didnt appeal to me in the slightest, now I found my self looking about for WiiU game bundurus Bloody love the Wii thought
It's not going head to head with PS4....It's going to live side by side with my PS4. Remember when the DS was coming out and everyone said Nintendo was DOOOOMED or the slow start the 3DS had and Nintendo was DOOOOOOOMED. YEAH........... "Gamers" have turned into pessimistic assholes. Nintendo isn't in trouble, Sony isn't in trouble. XBOX will slog on until the higher ups at Microsoft pull the plus. PC gaming is just fine. everything is fine. the $400 worth of games I have on preorder prove that.
"Gamers" aren't all pessimistic assholes. The problem is that many think their opinion is more valuable than it actually is. A lot of what I have seen relates to an individual not being happy with a product, and then taking it upon themselves to speak for a community/group of people. I'll admit that I've been guilty of this too (EAFront was crap, and I've made that very clear aha, as have many others) but I'd argue not to the same degree / level of arrogancy. It just comes down to people believing they're more important than they actually are.
Hahaha, I remember all the articles proclaiming it to be the next Virtual Boy. People need to start making their own opinions, too. With all the Youtubers and gaming "news" websites, a lot of people don't even bother. They just parrot whatever their favorite Youtuber or what have you said. I find it hilarious that people are taking the underclocking thing (which as far as I know is just a rumor at this point) so seriously. Games are just supposed to be fun, honestly who cares what clock speed the processor runs at. The games look nice enough to me. If you want a bleeding edge system, then you may as well skip over PS4 and XBone as well, and build a gaming PC, because those are shit too compared to a high end gaming PC.
