OS version 2.00 has been released, and it's a MAJOR update

I completely understand this point and I think it's absolutely right. Legally he owes me nothing but as many things in life things are guided for morality and the hard law.
Morality is subjective and most of the time the reason why discussions happen.

He legally owes me nothing but in the other hand morally I don't think it's a good thing to praise a few with a bonus and left the others aside.
I'm not demanding anything here. Even when I said I would e-mail Krikzz himself I said I would argue with him and try to persuade him.
There's too much of a difference to keep banging on the same key over and over again.
I'm not a child and I fully understand legal obligations which again he owes me absolutely nothing.

Still this gets a different taste of discussion when I used to chat with the guy on Skype and don't actually feel he's a company or an industry.
The taste is completely different and I can see on comments here with the "poor dude" comments.

And while many here complain about some aspect in their lives were something became old and abandonware there's still the other side where companies support every generation of their products.
People used the example of the PS3 and the Xbox. Every update Microsoft and Sony bring to their consoles covers their entire family. PS3 Phat, Slim, Super Slim, Xbox Jasper, Elite and so on.

As people here enjoy stories it's nice to remember that when Sony removed the OtherOS which the company could by law it felt morally wrong.

There's law and there's morality and there's absolute nothing, besides good arguments, that can change that the v1 not being supported anymore is morally unaccepted to me.
As this is my opinion and while the developer can do whatever he wants I can express whatever I feel for what he's doing.

 

I deal in HW and SW all the time, sometimes to run the new SW I need new HW, yes even just a seemingly easy to port update, I'm not complaining that the author of the SW does not support the old HW anymore it's his choice, my choice is to continue to run the old SW on the old HW as I did and it all still works.

Let's assume KRIKzz would give you a 50US$ discount on your card and send you V2, once a V3 would come around would you still be stepping on his nuts to get it cheaper because you supported him since V1?
Somehow I believe that you are convinced that you bought unlimited, unconditional and cheap update/service for life for the price of 100US$ .... V1 is what 2+Y old so I presume you got it at least 2Y worth of usage out of it .... so now you believe you need OSv2 for whatever feature you think you can't live without, don't pester the inventor just get your hands in your pocket and buy the required HW for it. KRIKzz already decided not to backport it to ease his development pain, his business, his choice and he didn't even lie about it, why is it so hard for you to accept it?

Yes, morality is subjective, but morally he's right to do as he pleases when updating the Everdrives, including not releasing updates for anyone. And if you keep on with your ridiculous posts you might well make him stop making updates altogether - if I were Krikzz and I had to put up with posts like your when I made updates, I'd be tempted to stop spending my time on writing updates.

Krikzz does not owe you, or anyone, an updated OS for the ED64. Please please please try to understand that.

Legally and MORALLY he owes you nothing. And he is not 'praising' others, as you put it. What do you think he is praising them for? For not buying the ED64 in the first months of it's life? Somehow I doubt that's his intention, and he's not victimising you in any way.

Seriously? You're advancing that as an argument? Assuming you're not trolling (which I doubt, since you have a high post count) then don't you realise that Microsoft and Sony make money continuously from the XBox 360 and PS3, every time you buy a game for that console (and whenever you pay for XBox Live!, in the case of the 360). If Krikzz made money continuously from the ED64 instead of the one off payment you gave him, then your point would be relevant, but as it is it's utterly irrelevant.

If Microsoft and Sony made no money from the console once you'd bought it, they wouldn't issue free patches and fixes.

But the PS3 was marketed as being able to run Linux. Krikzz never said there's be a stream of updates for the ED64.

Yes, and I can claim that the Earth is made of chocolate cake, that fish live in trees and eat clouds, and that I'm the king of the world, but that doesn't make any of it right. Krikzz owes you nothing, the same as he owes us. If he chooses to release software for x hardware and not y harwdare then that's up to him. There's probably owners of other Everdrives who wish he'd add new features to their EDs, but they don't have the right to expect him to do that, though they have the right to ask him.

As if they don't ALSO keep making money for every sold console the same way Krikzz makes money for every new Everdrive sold.

I would be really surprised if someday he releases an update for an everdrive that will never get produced again.

People can expect anything from anyone in the other hand you can't say a people isn't allowed to expect something.

Anyone got any gameshark codes for legend of zelda orcaina of time? I can just pop on the SD card, spent 30 min trying to get the codes to work and i couldnt,

 

Probably just me, but does anyone else have trouble running Battletanx? I can get the sequel to work but the first game doesn't seem to start, and I've tried to run different files for it.

 

Hm I think you discovered a new bug in OS 2.04. Maybe Krikzz forgot the set the timing for Battle Tanx to 0x80371240.

I can't get cheats to work, no matter what I do. Is there any documentation on this? Does anyone else have this problem?
