Full playthrough. Working perfect except videos.



I still dont know how shake off the cockroaches/slugs. Maybe the arcade have one button or the pistol some sensors in order to do this.

 

I actually converted the videos to avi using the xvid codec then renamed the file to .VID and it worked.

I'm currently uploading full video sound fix from start to end of the game!
It's pretty big archive, cos sound quality is lossless, NOT from youtube, from source pcm files (crystal clear quality):

so you can wait for my upload, or just do it by yourself right now (look pastebin link)
and don't forget video will work normally only in 640x480 resolution, not bigger!

Nice work Pavel Still can't get the game past whatever the Security check is but at least i can see some videos with proper sound now

 

First post updated with all needed info, plus new video.

To do list:

• add 16:9 support
• add player 2 controls
• add beautiful custom graphics filters

Anybody, who familiar with Arcade PC Loader, please try to look how to enable second player controls!? I know you can't use second mouse, so maybe possible at least to attach controls to keyboard buttons/gamepad, ect... Game WAS forced to have 2 players, so will be awesome.

What API control use this game? Because DirecInput only support one mouse.

 

All the monsters (except for blood/shadows, leeches, and cockroaches) are invisible for me. Running on an Asus Windows 7 x64 w/ Intel integrated graphics card. Followed all the instructions, got all the codecs and everything. Any ideas?

Is the sound fix events package really useful ?

I already have the sound in all the events by default.

I did the following steps to get no crash and sound working :

- I launched DSFMgr.exe
- then selected ffdshow Video Decoder
- entered Filter settings
- and turned all the video formats disabled to libavcodec

 

well, maybe this will work, but I shun of "video formats/codec disabled", cos maybe it will disable some extremely useful codecs in windows without the ability to cancel this operation. (idk, but maybe VirtualDub/other will not work anymore after this "disable")

So, sound fix package for that kind of people - who don't want to modify their windows in any way, like disabling codecs and all things like that.

I noticed the intro (SceneA file) has two different audios: one with the Silent Hill 1 main theme ("Silent Hill") and other with the Silent Hill 2 main theme ("Theme of Laura"). The game has both audio files as "EV_A" and "EV_A_LAURA", so I suppose the "Silent Hill" theme is the default one and the "Theme of Laura" is an alternative that is supposed to be loaded randomly or maybe when the intro is playing again during attract mode. This would be missed by manually adding the audio to the file, like SILENT_Pavel did, adding the "Theme of Laura" theme and also used the Japanese subtitled variant of the intro for some reason, rather than the clean English one.

Maybe someone who is having the event audios playing without manually inserting them to the video files could confirm this?

 

Yes, you are right, there is different audios, but look on this video here, this is original arcade machine, so "Theme of Laura" is default, or randomly played with second, no big deal anyway

It would be good if someone who can play the game with sound in events without having to manually add them to the videos could confirm it.

By the way, you forgot to add sound to both "playdemo" files in your pack, which are the attract sequences explaining how to play the game both in normal violence and mild violence forms.

 

I was talking with this guy via PM on Youtube about his videos (attached). He was merge video and audio files together, like me and jackic, so this is not proof. Then i was found real video from real arcade machine (link upper). If you will find another video with real hardware and this music theme - then ok, we will think about it again.

Correct, but how to start this video from in-game? I was able to see them only inside resources, i thought nobody will care about it (cos nobody will see it in-game?). Maybe i will fix it later.

 

is this thing safe my virus scanner said it has a virus and that it's level is high , so I disabled it for a second and clicked on Game Loader All RH.exe and it just made all my desktop items disappear and changed the mouse icon to a cross.

 

I've just finished the game now. I'm not into shooting games at all but this seemed a very nice game! I had a lot of fun.

The graphics look, for some reason, "dreamcastish".


But could someone spill the story out?

Don't read further if you want to know the story by yourself.

There's the boy and the girl and they went to rescure Emile that is at the same time Hanna? Or is it possessed by Hanna... and she's after her mom that is already dead...

But what about the great grand father of the main guy? What's his relationship with Hanna's (Emilie's) mom?

Maybe I'm stupid but I didn't got that at all.


The other characters seemed unrelated to the plot or am I mistaken?
