[PC] Silent Hill: The Arcade - PLAYABLE on Windows! + tutorial

This is so cool to play, shame there was not console release. It plays similiar to Dreamcast House Of The Dead.

I also downloaded to sound fix movie files, renamed the original folders to include the name "Original". Copied the sound fix files to new same named folders (without "original") and now the movies play with full sound.

To get that 640x480 mode, I loaded up the Game Loader Config.exe file. Choose the Loader 2 box which has the resolution settings, change to 640x480. Click the lower white box and then click Okay on the pop up box that asks to save the INI file. Is there a breakdown (or Lauguage translation) for what all the sections in this file has?

I can only get as far as killing a few rounds of nurses passed the select direction screen then the game kicks me out. This happens with either loading KSHG.exe, the Game Loader All RH.exe file or the KSHG_no_cursor.exe file. Very nice so far, thanks again!

My deepest thanks to the people involved in this. I really wanted to play this game since I knew of it's existence. By the way, if the game crashes when loading, just install the K-Lite Code Pack and filter every disabled filter to livabcodec. That fixed my problems. I'll leave a screnshot here to prove it works:



By the way, I used KSHG_no_cursor on Steam to take screenshots. Also, if you're using Game Loader and the FPS numbers on the top corner of the screen gets annoying, you can remove it by editing TTX.ini, search for [FPS] and in the line "Show" change the value to "0"

About 'console release' - you can connect DVI-HDMI adapter to your videocard and fullHD TV, then select 1080p resolution in arcade loader settings and play with wiimote.
>Win7 64 Bit - that's the problem, recomended 32bit, btw what's the point to have 64bit win, when you have only 2gb ram?

arcade loader have their own screenshot button - Print Screen, and this is not what you are thinking, screenshot file will appear in folder after pressing this button, no need to paste this to paint.exe or something.

 

I heard that doing the K-Lite Code Pack ​stuff you can fix that crash, but I ain't sure about that.

I tried taking screenshots with Print Screen in the Arcade Loader, but I just obtained black screen captures.

Also, the custom crosshair link isn't working, someone please fix it.

 

am I the only one getting unspecified error when i try to unpack the main files?, does anyone know how to fix this?

 

How do I take out the cockroaches on the screen? It's not like Deadstorm Pirates where you have to shoot an insect that sticks into the screen.

Also, this game is not released in the United States along with Castlevania: The Arcade.

 

As already said, there's no need to change everything to libavc. Videos are MPEG2 so just set MPEG2 to libavc. If you have the new XVID videos then set MPEG4 ASP or whatever ffdshow call them.

 

You have to shoot them. If you're using a resolution avobe 640x480, you'll have a hard time shooting cockroaches, as the crosshair must be put a bit avobe them to hit them.

Also, any of you encountered some bugged enemies? Like, I got stuck in one part in the hospital because there was a monster attacking me, but it was nowhere to be seen. I shot randomly all over the screen and there was nothing, but suddendly, the game continued. The same happened in the boss battle against Robbie the Rabbit, one of them bugged and dissapeared of the screen, but it was still attacking me.

 

help it crashes as soon as attract video pops up i did everything too i really want to get this working so badly is there a step by step video tutorial on youtube that i can follow please ???

Hey that rocks!
I have 2 ps2 guns hooked at pc and working with wingun driver. this driver works with direct input
player2 buttons can be mapped in config.bat, selecting the blank spaces under p1 buttons.
So only if the mouse moves p1 and p2 crosshairs at same time, it could be played in two player mode with this driver.
can it be done?
Also, didn't that game have offscreen reload? If so can it be mapped to any key?

^ GTI Supermini Festa has a futbol minigame where your car turns into a player and you have to ram the soccer ball into the goal net. Keep up with Konami PC hardware to be emulated! It's very rare here in the States and I'm waiting for Thrill Drive 3!

 

Finally i was able to open it, somehow the second part had a different name from the first one

 

I only found one unused texture on this game but it's only just a placeholder texture.

Just made an account to say thanks to the people that worked on this. Been dreaming about the day I'd get to play this. Also, since someone mentioned it, any chance we might get the Castlevania Aracde game as well eventually? Once again, thankful for all your hard work.

 

I'm still waiting for Lethal Enforcers 3, GTI Club, and Castlevania Arcade to be emulated soon! Keep up!
