Yeah, a bit pricey. They want 128,000, but that's to be expected of a store like that. They have a decent show case, but nothing in it is priced correctly.
So someone tell me about the Akiyama Senjin Sample (demo). It seems to be quite rare... and of course, pricey.
the one retro shop in the broadway in nakano wants about 145'000 for the golden one. for cheaper i didn't see it recently in stores.
I rode my bike there today. 138,000 yen (or so). Pretty good selection, but their prices suck across the board. A shame. Why does Broadway remind me of Korea?
I was searching for PCE rarities and found this thread  So what do you consider a complete PCE set? Does it have to include the super rare non-proto stuff as well? I read somewhere that Adol has a complete PCE set, just missing some spines I think. But how do you know you have every game released? What is the list that you go by? Hope that's not too many questions:Girl:
I think generally it's everything that was commercially produced (has a serial number). For a bonus, the unofficial games (Strip Fighter) and commercial demos since they are somewhat well catalogued and not that hard to keep up with.
I go by many lists: Daigirin, Pcecp.com to name a few. I have the complete set for near a decade now, meaning every game released in stores (addition of Cicrus Lido, that wasn't released i stores exctly I added to that the "mooks" games (about 10 of them, like Bakuretsu Hunter,etc..),the PC Engine issues games (Motteke Tamago,etc..), Darius Alpha, the Games express games, the PC Engine Caravan hucards, some "hibaihin" like Faceball Sample Disc,Deden no Den,Laplace no Ma Preview Disc...and THEN,i could add some samples, that are not listed precisely...because this category is "endless"! You can never say it is "complete" until a new comes up...like "hey i got Silky Lip Ver 2.1"..and 3 months later comes up the 3.0 version, then the 5.1,etc.. But i realized i hadn't ALL spine cards for my CD/SCD games, so i decided to go for the 40-40 i was missing..i only need 2 now (Nobunaga no Yabou Bushuu Fuu Roku and Ultrabox Vol.1, if anybody can help),and i'll make new pics of the fullset
are you talking about the regular Akiyamajin (http://www.pcedaisakusen.net/2/28/Akiyama-Jin-No-Suugaku-Mistery-jp.htm) or a demo of it? there is one in super potato in the show case for about min. 2 years now (for about 380'000). as i'm aware, adol also own one. it have to be the most pricy piece of pc engine soft nowadays. if i had the money i would afford it, but there's no way.
Almost every bigger retro shop in Japan has a copy of it, some even have sealed ones (as Super Potato, although only the disc is sealed AFAIR). They just don't sell.. Photo I took of the one @Super Potato in Akiba:
Since some Famicom rarities were mentioned in this thread that they could be found on Yahoo Japan, I went on to check today and I found this game, Gimmick. Why is this game so expensive? I found one on Ebay, cart only for $45. But this guy on Yahoo Japan is trying to sell it for 450,000 yen.h: http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w15798894 The guy also got this game, Hebereke, for sale, also at the same hefty price. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b83804017
Talking about a demo (taikenban) of it. It seems to have popped up in the last few years. I remember when they would sell for 300,000 yen used and go out the door. On that scale, 380,000 yen for Super Potato's sealed one is not a bad deal. It's been there for ages though.
wow, didn't know anything about a taikenban version of Akiyamajin. here's another list for some protos, taikenban & hibaihin: http://www.geocities.co.jp/HeartLand-Suzuran/9038/pce_nfs.html unfortunately, this one is not listed.
Ridiculous prices...check here: http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f62892945 Auction ends in 4 hours, there are plenty of rare games INCLUDING Gimmick, and for 6 times less than what you say
