Excluding those who have blabbed is not the answer, this will only encourage them to start revealing more in an act of revenge or protest.
Well considering so far all that's been talked about is: A)The very existance of this place and B)Sonic Xtreme They have nothing to flap their gums about that they already haven't. I see no reason to not start excluding people for not obeying a very very simple request that is in no way difficult to follow. Course the decision isn't up to me. Since this place is basically non-existant they'd be hard pressed to prove it exists in the first place. However to exclude them will just at most make the idiotic type (tell me why we want the idiotic types again?) blab what they do know. After that they will know nothing more and as such will no longer be a blabber.
Just to keep us on track : how many users have access to this section? It would maybe help if we controll each other, and know who's here...a list would be fine (a private one of course).
With all the excitement over Sonic Extreme breathing life back into this site, I'm curious and excited about what the future holds. Is there any chance of any of the games on http://www.unseen64.cjb.net turning up?
Well I guess you're right there =) Hopefully there are some people who want to share... and for those who don't, hopefully we can work out some kind of deal that everyone's happy with =) Oh BTW - check your PM!
i hope for something squaresoft or RPG related to pop out... there was a guy here with a half translated FFT version and another with a review disc with special debug mode and extra options... to bad i couldn't get in touch with him anymore... also the remake of zelda 2 for the snes satellaview would rock... actually there's SO MUCH great unreleased/beta/protos to uncover that it would be almost impossible to choose one.
Will non 0th bit users ever be able to see these threads when the time of public release comes? I think it would be quite entertaining to see how people react when the see what we've all been up to. Or is this section going to stay forever secret to protect controversial/sensitive releases?
You know what, madhatter256? I'm getting tired of the elitist attutide that some of you 'active members' seem to have against new members. Actually I know the whole story. I don't think you need to be a registered user on this forum to know what goes on in the world. The internet doesn't begin and end with assemblergames.com. Like I said somewhere else on this board, I've wanted to get my hands on the Extreme demo for years. Let me run something by you. If it had been left to the active members alone to stump up the $2000 for Sonic Extreme then the demo would probably have been lost again. You would not be getting your hands on it if it wasn't for the additional contribution of the same new members that you are trying to put down. People join this board because they share your interests. The fact that they joined after you did does not make them any less trustworthy or any less knowledgable, so I don't think they deserve to be talked to in the way that they are across several threads on this board. Perhaps it's this unwelcoming attitude towards newcomers that had the board stagnating until Extreme breathed some new life into it? Now there's a thought. If the dollars of the new members aren't good enough for you though because they have fewer posts than you do, maybe you should take it upon yourself to personally refund them their money so that you can keep the demo exclusive to your little 'active members' club? You can start by refunding my $168. Alternatively you can start welcoming the new blood as more members will benefit the community.
I think what madhatter gets at is not everyone is here for the same interests as people like you or I, and really are just people who are up to no good or have their own motives. Ill be the first to thank you and everyone else for what theyve contributed, but Im not sure if immediatly, ie first post people, should be allowed in right away, but at the same time, whose to say they wont contribute like any other member. Im just saying I see both sides of the coin here.
Funny you think that. I guess you really don't know the community as well as you think you do. I myself was willing to go up to halfs on this release alone. It's nice that everyone ptched in and I know we all appreciate it, but it would have happened one way or another. Don't think we're trying to be elitist snobs, we're just trying to protect the integrity of the board. When new users have access to potentially sensitive data it leaves a lot of unknowns lying open. That's not to say that you shouldn't be welcomed, but rather that we learn to trust andenjoy your company with time, just as we all have had to stick around and prove ourselves to be honest and trustworthy. Don't confuse what goes on in here with the rest of the board. You'll never find any of us bashing stupid "noobs" out ther and you'll never find it in here either. Hatter was merely concerned with insuring that sensitive info remains sensitive. -ServiceGames-
