Glad to see that it got to you in perfect condition mate. I bet you had a hard time getting in to the parcel

Thanks. I still haven't had time to put it on yet though. Hopefully sometime this weekend.

One of these (not mine obviously, I don't have a camera at the moment), a 32" Sony KV FD1 WEGA. It takes up most of my room but it's a beautiful set with lots of inputs (2xVGA, 3xSCART, 2xS-Video, and a couple of Composite A/V). At first I was alarmed by the noise reduction artefacts, which were pretty disturbing, but a bit of messing around in the service menu sorted that out. Apparently it cost something ridiculous like £3200 when it was released, I picked it up for £40. Amazing how quickly technology depreciates in value.

always glad to be of service

Some nice buys this week starting off with a few more Saturn games and Sky Crawler for the Wii.

My DVD player also gave in this week so I bought this very nice Pioneer up-scaling unit. Fantastic picture quality and some great audio DSP effects plus it can play DIVX , MPEG 3, MPEG 4, WMA and other stuff from either a disc or USB stick.

And to go with the new DVD player is the entire series of Red Dwarf  Thank God that Europe and Japan are both region 2.

I have a similar looking Pioneer DVD player (DV-400V, but it's black) and I love it. I only have a HD-Ready TV, but when I compared the quality of an upscaled DVD (with HD mastering, i.e. Bad Boys 2 or Wolf Creek) with an actual HD DVD (M:I 3), I did not notice so much of a difference tbh. There are some of course, but they become rather minor due to upscaling IMO.

What is Sky Crawler about? I somehow get the impression that all the interesting Wii stuff (which is already hard enough to spot among all this "shake-it"-shit) is only coming out in Japan while we get Ubisoft's 'Horse Doctor' and the like.

Yeah, they have it in black too but Ithought silver would go nice with my Saturn on top of it :) It is a fantastic player though.

Yeah, I hate all that shake the Wii remote crap. Sky Crawler is a dog fight action game set in Europe based around the anime of the same name. Loads of anime cut scenes to get the story rolling as well as ingame cinematic sections. So far I'm up to mission 5 and must say it's pretty good. The ground graphics could be better but for what they are they serve their purpose. Here's the official site if you want to check out some of the videos online - http://sky-crawlers.namco-ch.net/trailer.html There's two trailers to watch.

How the hell do you not have Super Robot Wars F? I mean it's not like it is the hardest game to get, and 210 Yen? they must know you around those parts as that's a waste of a good couple of Daifuku or at least a onigi as I've seen that game in a couple of hard offs around here for 21 yen... (and that's still probably overpriced).

:katamari2 :katamari: ;-) :eek:h: :eek:h: :crying:     :noooo: :katamari: :crying:

Well, I had Super Robot Wars F Final (the black coved version) so for some reason I thought I had the white coved one as well until I noticed yesterday that I didn't. Oh, if you think 210 yen is over priced you should see what those crocks at Manga Soko are charging for it, 2500 yen! F*ing nuts!

Sky Crawler looks like a fun game from what I can say after watching the few trailers. At least it seems to have a much more intense atmosphere than this other Wii flying sim Wing Island - which was absolutely awful if you ask me. If it came out on the PS2 everybody would have condemned it to gaming-hell as shite but therefore it was being released for the Wii, people kept saying "well it ain't that bad, you can play it, for inbetween it's OK" ect. ^^

SR Taisen F was a pain in the ass to me. I had to buy it about 5 times untill I had one with the tore-ka.
