I think you have to use the PSU that comes with the actual screen and not the PSone's power supply. Apparently this is because the screen and console draw more current together, and this might lead to the original PSU overheating.
On my UK/ PAL version, the PSU (for the screen) is rated at 3.0A, I think the one for the console is just 2.0A.

heh thanks, but the PSU is actually more like a PSP charging cable ( the tip that is ) so i need to find one like that.

the lid closes just fine and can stay shut, however if i press the open button the lid flies off backwards ( literally ) because the hinge part that held down the left side broke in half :/

    see previous reply :p

the back of the console says it uses 7.5v, dunno anything else other than that so i am off to find a power brick from some store with interchangable bits :)

    Thanks for the replies!

Well i learnt something today Il have to buy one and open it up seen the insides of a PS but not a PSOne

We have these things that you flick it between AC and DC power and you pick the Voltage aswell on sliders really good when replacements cant be found there also really cheap like dirt cheap i got mine for some speakers from a pound shop it also comes with four ends so if one isnt right you have 3 more chances.

Are the PSones rare in the US or something? PSOnes can be had for under 10 pounds ($15) quite easily, which is probably what you would be looking for a generic PSU.

Warning : Most cheap PSUs are generally not rated for more then an amp and if the device tries to draw more then that it will get very hot and fail in a big way (which will include catching on fire).

You can get a PSOne PSU for $5 but it costs $5 to ship which defeats the purpose... http://www.nintendorepairshop.com/shopexd.asp?id=642

You might as well look for another PSOne...

I am sure you all remember this little bargain and it`s story

Well I didn`t need to get a power supply for the PAL booster, it eventually all worked anyway

Well as a courtesy I e-mailed the guy to say it was all fine, he said thanks for the update and then offered me a cube and some games for £10, I said I would check with my son as he had £5 pocket money from a nan and let him know. Anyway about 2 days later he said I can have it because of the problems with the N64

So a US cube with a region switch, another step down, 2 games and freeloader, and official memory......all for nada

LOL it does seem like that dosent it hehe, theres finally enough out to justify picking one up & the great bonus is most 360 games are dirt cheap so i can enjoy working my way through & buying lots, bioshock is just incredible. Theres some stuff that i'd never get to play if i just stuck to a wii.

I don't know why, but the colour of the headset's windshield and headphone cover makes me feel slightly icky.

(for non X360 users: it *should* be grey)

Got a bunch of Saturn games today, probably the first time in 2009 that I'm expanding my collection of the planet console.

The nine games on the left were one lot (incredible 18 Euro.. shipped from France even). The bundle included 3D Lemmings (new), Touge King the Spirits 2 (new, already have this one used), Shutoku Battle '97 (new, already have this one used), Touge King The Spirits, Initial D, Super Keirin (not for sale), World Fishing, Fishing Koshien 2 and a used copy of Taiheiyou no Arashi 2 (already have this one sealed).

Furthermore I received the three games on the right some weeks ago. Hiyake no Omoide: Girls in Motion 1 (what a shit game and the girls look so 90ish :-(), Wizard's Harmony (they managed to write it with an apostroph this time) and Yuukyuu no Gensoukyoku Hozonban Perpetual Collection (the last Saturn game to be released in december 2000 and limited to 5000 pieces or so).

PS: I tried to play that Girls in Motion game, but it always froze after I entered my initials when I completed a puzzle. Is that a known error? There are no scratches on the disc...

Hmm, that is very odd. Mine works fine. You are using a Japanese console, right? If not then it may be a mod chip or disc swap problem.

Yeah, a white Saturn (no junk console). It hang up during a loading screen in Intial D, too... is she dying? :-(

PS: Initial D is far better than I expected. Once you managed to handle that sensible drift system it really is a hell lot of fun. Not Sega Rally fun, but fun

Just got over 40 early 90's UK Sega Magazines, various promotional books, old issues of PC Format and a handful of Flick Movie Magazines.

Items of particular interest are an official Ocean magazine and a 32X Sega Promo book and a huge Street Fighter 2 poster.

I got it cause it was $4 and that I rarely see one locally ( first one I've seen in years now ) but I guess you are right...might as well try to find another psone online and use this unit for some tinkering ;-)

Thanks for the headsup though on that PSU warning!
