The PSX boots up. Maybe the drive have some problems. I use google translate and read something that the drive work, but not with any disc.
I bought some other stuff from yahoo.jp and for 777Yen i include it in my package, even when the psx have problems.

I was looking at buying one of those PSX systems yesterday from hard off. Not 777 yen though, that's a give away price! but 3000 yen! Or maybe a white PS3 for 4500 yen but they are so big and ugly. I may still get the PS3 though just beacuse I'm thinking of collecting the Sega Simple 2500 series of games or doesn't the PS3 play PS2 games anymore?

 

Yakumo, if you want to play those games, i suggest getting a PS2 Slim with component cables. Then use the framemeister to upscale it.

If you want to play PS3 games, get the Slim model. The fat ones are very power hungry and have more problems (like ylod). The SuperSlim looks way to cheap and it's noisier.

 

A working PS3 only 4500 yen!? Dang I'd be right on that for PS1 games, virtual memory cards have me spoiled.

 

Yeah, my local Hard off had about 8 to 10 OS3s for 4500 to 5000 yen each. Most were black but they did have 2 white models. I may just go with the PS2 sim like Johnny pointed out. They had one of them for 2000 yen but 'D need to buy cables for it and a pad and I really don't like the PlayStation pads. Maybe a nice joystick?

 

If you don't like the Dual Shock 2, check for some Hori or Logitech controllers. I can recommend the Logitech Cordless Action Controller.

 

i feel the same with playstation pads, i recently got Street Fighter Alpha Anthology and have been put of playing it due to the playstation controller being "blergh" with some added "meh" need to get a joystick also, if anyone can recommend a decent playstation joystick?

Hm i also bought a white fat ps3 but cheapest i see was 14000Yen (good condition).
Another option is you jailbreak a cheap ps3. Than you can play PS1/2/3 from hdd. Without using the BD drive i never had problems with Ylod.

@executter, I'm very curious to see the backside of that CD. Is it a CD-R? I can hardly imagine that OziSoft would supply a MIL-CD copy of a game.. Have you checked it's contents already? Maybe it's a GD-R.. that would make more sense.
