Got an Asian (PAL-I, Model 1601-11) Sega Mega Drive at a local flea market. And if there's a Mega Drive I would've never expected to find outside of eBay, these forums, etc., it's probably one of these. Came with European/German PSU, official 3-button controller, "SG-8" 3rd party controller (very much a rip-off of the original Sega one; this one's kinda glitchy, too), extremely short composite video cable (and only that, no audio!), a pair of tiny passive speakers, and a European copy Sonic 2.

I've since cleaned the system up as well as I could; still has some scratches I probably can't get rid of...

 

I recived the wholesale lot for 53 boxed Sega Megadrive Japanese games today im just sorting through them as I type and will post some pictures soon, im only posting now because I could not stop laughing or maby belive my look I was opening the box's to check the games and hidden under the instruction manual of Shining Force Legacy of Great Intention I found a little bonus, a Japanese lesbian porno DVD HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I guess it was the previous owners great intention to hide it there from his wife

 

Picked this up last week

Many people who paid in full missed out, the stores that held these over ordered. So I rushed in to grab it. Glad I did

$150 USD + free shipping, I had to wait over 2 months for it to arrive though

I was quite happy with them all being boxed and in good shape, all the ones im keeping for my collection include instructions, maps and other papers too
Some nice RPG's, fighting games and Sonic 1 + 2

 

man, next time you want to buy a lot of MD games you should come to me. For that price I could have gotten you a better selection or a load more games. Still, as long as there were games in that selection you can enjoy it's not all bad.

I'm late posting these as I've either been busy, ill, or too busy playing games to talk about them but I recently picked up The Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Legendary Edition and Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition in the Steam Autumn Sale.

I also foolishly picked up another GTX 760 for SLI so now I can play the aforementioned games and others at a minimum of 1080p60 on Ultra quality and an ASUS Vulcan ANC headset so I can hear everything in game crystal clear and block out the rest of the world.

Lastly I picked up a copy of Windows 8.1 for the full fat DirectX 11 experience.

 

Mint condition 2008 20" iMac with a 2.66Ghz Core 2 Duo Processor and HD 2600 Pro GPU for £100.

The owner said he thought it was dead (was showing the stop sign on boot) so was selling it for peanuts as he didn't think it would be worth anything. turns out the hard drive had failed, dropped in a spare 2TB drive I had kicking around and it's as good as new.

Now if only DDR2 wasn't so damn expensive, 2GB just isn't enough for my needs.

 

I made myself a couple of reproduction Mega Drive games again over the last week. As with the last batch I try to keep them looking as authentic as possible. This means every cartridge label has to be made by hand and to look like the real deal. It's good fun plus it's better than playing a ROM on an emulator or even an Ever Drive. This way it feels a little bit more special. Still I'd love to own the originals of all these games again at some point.





Rolling Thunder 3 and Sol Deace never actually got a Japanese release so those covers had to be made from scratch. I sort of cheated with the Rolling Thunder 3 one because the images are actually from the Rolling Thunder 2 arcade flyer. I did replace the screen shots on the back with Rolling Thunder 3 ones though.

Ah, that Rolling Thunder 3 cover is a mix of the original Roling Thunder 2 Japanese Mega Drive cover, Rolling Thunder 1 Famicom art (used on the front) and the Rolling Thunder 2 arcade flyer art that I also used but I used that on the front.

If you'd like a copy of the Rolling Thunder 3 case I could sort that out for you Also a cartridge sricker. I never did a manual cover though like the guy in the link.
