I got a transparent Game Boy Pocket from a thrift store. This thing is in amazing shape. It looks a little yellowish in this picture, but that's just because of the lighting. I also got Power League 64 (JPN, not pictured).

Wow, how much does an NPDP Reader cost these days if I may ask? Always fancied that piece of GC hardware.

I bought Resident Evil 6 today for the 360.

Or should that be Bio Hazard 6?

I love Capcom's Asian releases. They mostly come with reversible covers. On side features the western layout and art while the other features the Japanese style.

I am interested by this sticker stuck on to the actual cover though. The Bloodiest Version? Hmm...

If I get an Asian copy of resident evil for ps3, will I be able to use the online code on any account on my ps3? I know I could only use it on that specific account region, but once used, I would like to be able to play online on any account. Possible?
(yeah I just want an asian copy for the artwork)

No idea about PS3 but my 360 codes work in Japan. Funny thing is that the game even says Bio Hazard on the title screen.

I suppose that this sticker on the asian cover wants to emphasize the fact that the japanese version is censored. I played the japanese Ps3 demo, and I saw that they cut off the headshots. The head will take some damage like western versions, but the head will not blow off.
We can see it very clearly in the Leon campaign, where if you stomp on a zombie's head we can hear the crushing sound effect but the head will remain intact.

oh no. My 360 is Japanese and even though I have the language set to English, this game stars up as Bio Hazard had has NO exploding heads. I thought it was crap the way the zombies heads stayed on even though I just blew it away with a shot gun or stamped the hell out of it. I wonder if I sign in with my UK account will it play as Resident Evil with the gore?

Sega Katana Set 2.1 Development Board

The postman arrived today bearing the grandfather of all Sega Dreamcast gifts!

What arrived, I hear you ask?

Sega Katana Set 2.1 Development Board

    Why this particular item?

This is the essentially the grandfather of the Sega Dreamcast as we know it, probably after the Dural / Blackbelt phase and one of the earliest examples of the system in its Katana roadmap. There really isn't much to it - it is basically an alpha / prototype version of the PowerVR CLX2 GPU with the bare minimum of stuff to use it and there is no SH4 or AICA yet either - they are emulated by the host PC.

In terms of usefulness, it can only really run a few samples which are provided in the Katana R2 SDK such as the infamous SCUD Race tech demo. You can of course write your own software for it, but bear in mind if you wanted it to work on a retail Dreamcast you'd probably have to write it all over again. What it did do was allow developers to get a preview into the Sega DReamcast development environment so when newer kits shipped they had a rough idea of where and how to get started, but really it is more of an oddity and collectors item than something you would make use of regularly. Irrespective of this, expect to pay a packet.

    Issues

I haven't had chance to test it yet. I need to sort out my Windows 98 SE machine first and after reading the Katana R2 SDK documentation, it may prefer Windows 95 and some faffing about with the previous version board's drivers. I do look forwards to putting this card through its paces in the near future though, hopefully I can get it all working sometime today!

One Katana down, a few more to go (again) hehe.

Been getting some retro stuff lately but haven't bothered to post so posted what I picked up today, got the super famicom games from a local book off each for next to nothing, (same game and mario kart $10, rest for $5) they even had a boxed minty super scope for super famicom but decided to pass considering there is not that many good games for it. Odd part was all the loose games came with manuals!

Also had super famicom copies of all the donkey kong countrys for $10 each boxed complete but passed due to not being able to read story or hints. I was ecstatic about thunderbirds, very difficult super famicom game to find and even came with manual! Also got the two blu rays I have been waiting for awhile.

Anyone known what little mini carts were released for the same game cartridge and if it's possible to still find them?
