synrgy87, the stick goes for £50 in the store, so i was guessing why not. Tried to find one on ebay and turns out nothing!

 

A new Hard Off has just opened up near by so I paid them a visit today and got a brand new NEVER USED!! Mega Drive Zero Wing and a mint copy of Bullet Witch for the 360. I know Bullet Witch is said to be a poor game but in all honestly it's not that bad.




By the way, I took some video in the new Hard off which will be featured on the New Retro Core 4 from the 24th December.

 

i've been tempted a few times to pick up bullet witch but kept picking something else over it. haha All you're base are belong to us!

it doesnt look too bad to be honnest, alot of these type of games get a bad wrap and dismissed without even being played, im currently on a xbox 360 single player curve at the min so if i see it cheap i'll grab it

oh and today arrived:

Atari CX-2600 JR

bought this as faulty plan to get it working again and add composite + audio out
still has plastic over the metal middle strip

 

Well I'm not gonna be buying games for a good few months, fucking cars and their needs.

Got last battle arriving in the post today, that will be my last game

Once the car is MOT'd next year, and it's warmish weather I'll start my quest for 2000 video games.

I'll post what I get weekly, which last year was like 50 games a week.

 

See that's the good thing, you try the game out for yourself - problem with the general gaming community they listen to what IGN and shitspot say and steer away from a game.
I want to grab this game as well, pick it up many times at a store.

 

I'll tell you one thing about Bullet Witch, it has a pretty shitty frame rate at times but yeah, it's just mindless walking and shooting. Great for a none thinking gaming romp. It's no Onechanbara but worth a shot if you can get it cheap enough. The best thing is that the japanese version has all the costumes and bonus courses for free as DLC while in the west you have to pay and I remember reading that you don't get everything either. On the pluss side there is English in the game however the dubbing is meant to be pretty poor.

 

i consider poor dubbing and voice acting in games a bonus feature, but in the uk this game is £4-£10 now so bargain bin anyway. do you know if the japanese release will play on western systems?

 

Zero Wing New in box?! Wow! The poor cartridge had to wait 23 years to be finally used.

Sadly the Japanese version is NTSC-J only. The Asian version is also NTSC-J only although that one is in English.

 

Yep, it's not easy to find brand new games of that age but every now and then one will pop up. You can tell if the game is new by the cartridge connectors, cartridge shell and of course instruction booklet.

The new Retro Core will have much less games on it but I will try to go in to more depth about the game or games featured.

Not strictly retro gaming, but it's very retro and geeky in a Betamax/Laserdisc kinda way...



Came in its original box, with manual, AC adaptor, Li-Ion battery, AA battery attachment, and even the original purchase invoice! Purchased in 1999 for $600 from "HOME APPLIANCE CENTA" in Bundaberg, Queensland.

The first stage is pretty crap to be honest but once you reach the city it really picks up.

 

Isn't the fun of Zero Wing it's bad English translation? You'd lose that with the original Japanese version! Which reminds me, I need to pick up a copy of Zero Wing. FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

 

I usually play Zero Wing in its US/PAL-Version on my Everdrive just to get the famous Engrish translation even though I do own the original Japanese version.

 

Just picked up this old thing today hope to get some games for it sooner or later only have ever seen 2 of these in the wild where i live so not the easiest old game system to find

Got this today for $10 dollars pick up didn't seem to be a regular Master system game due to the yellow sticker

 

That game brings memories. Master System was my first videogame console. It was a birthday gift, also with Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Gangster Town and World Grand Prix.

I hate myself for selling it during my dumb teenage years.

 

Tried to get a few things but keep getting sniped by assholes on Ebay.

Also apparently an economic crisis hasn't affected nearly as many people as we're led to believe...


Next year I'm going to get as much rare stuff as I can and post fortnightly pickup videos and shove it in their faces, assholes.
