Got an oem sega box of six brand new, boxed, european dreamcast controllers for $5 + free shipping.
Yay! Now I can finally play Power Stone & Crazy Taxi AND smash the controller against the wall once it gets too hard. Also Jet Set Radio lol

 

Not amazing deals but got the Brand new X-arcade stick and the adapters to let me use it on the Gamecube, Dreamcast, PS1/PS2, Xbox, and Computer for about $60.00 off list price on Ebay. Already have a Red Happ competition stick to replace the factory one. Also got all 3 Mario Brothers and a mario compilation cart for $31.00 from Goodwill today.

A damn fine price for this system in general since they're uncommon even in Japan. It was listed is untested junk, but when I hooked it up, it works fine! The tray even opens and closes! Score!

Even though I paid $7 for mine (thrift store didn't know what it was) still a real good price. Yours definitely looks in better condition than mine. Make sure to check the belt and be cautious of fuse. Though my Japanese mega cd model 1 hasn't given me any problems and seems more solid than my model 1 sega cd.

 

Yeah, I'm just gonna replace the belt, I'll be opening it up to clean it, so while I'm in there...

 

I've seen people crap on the X-Arcade sticks, and I don't really see why. I mean, all the parts are replacable (I still want to replace the sticks on mine), and it's a lot easier on the wallet and space than getting one for each system. The only problems I have with it are that the Dreamcast won't plug in VMUs (the Xbox does, but who uses Xbox memory cards?) and they haven't/won't make adapters for retro systems. That's just silly IMHO.

Went to the flea market today and there's a store just packed with games and game systems (picture below is abut a 3rd of the store). Decided against the Pokemon N64 he had and then I saw an old Halo edition XBox under 5 other broken xbox's. Couldn't get him below $20.00 but figured what the heck, it's a cool case if nothing else. Took it home, cleaned it up, fired it up..doesn't read discs. Swapped out crappy Phillips drive for a Samsung I had (notice I haven't swapped disc drive face yet) lying around and....sucker works great! Not bad for $20.00. Going to soft mod and put in bigger hard drive next. Then load it up with Coin Ops Massive and have some fun.

 

Sega sold official replacement cases? Don't game companies usually frown on the user opening up the hardware?

Small score today. Got the Killer Instict at a flea market for $5. Want to get the other colored SNES carts Doom and Maximum Carnage, not sure if there were any others for the US.

 

lwizardl that Spectravision controller is great. That and a Genesis controller are probably the best for the 2600.
