back in 2000 my parents threw out my whole collection (not even going ot start listing, we'll just say i could have made a wonderful downpayment on a home if i wanted with it, not that i would have). After much complaining to friends and gamestore employeers, i got 1 working 5 dead ps1's , a now dead and gone ps2, a genesis sans psu, a SMS, a complete phantasy star 1, a craptastic TV for all of it, and on top of that, a case of caffiene for that long next couple of days. ^_^

Round 2 Years ago i bought 4 factory sealed 64DD Games ([FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif]Japan Pro Golf Tour 64[/FONT], F-Zero, Sim City 64, Mario Artist) on Ebay, the Guy who had them for sell didn`t know they had any Worth so the Auction was with "Buy it now" for 60 €. ;-)

 

got 3 NES's, with a buttload of accesories, over 100 games, and a complete copy of tengen tetris and stack up for free. cousin gave it to me, i ended up selling all of it to 2 losers for 65 dollars, i was 9 and bought kirby: crystal shards and the strategy guides. from the same person i got atari 2600 with 25 games and 2 controllers and 2 paddle controllers free, and everything was in perfect condition. i still have it.

 

hold it. you sold 3 NES and 100+ (incl. tengen tetris) games for 65$ h:
don't know about prices over where you live.. but over here could easily get $200 for that (probably even more).

Two months ago I picked up a 2,5 Ghz AMD, 512 RAM, 10 Gb HD computer with mouse and a keyboard. Its owners got frustrated over it being constantly infected with all kinds of virus. When I was picking it up they mentioned that they let their friend who "knows this stuff" examine it, and he expertly judged that it was the processor.

When I brought it home, I booted it up and indeed, the system was infected. I didn't even bother to do anything ealse to it, other than completly format the HD, repartition it and install a fresh system.

They claimed to have experienced major slowdowns for no reason at all. I checked if the processor was being cooled properly. It was. With a fresh system onboard the thing runs like a charm. I gave it to my mom.

 

I just got Chrono Cross in great condition for $15 =P

 

I dread to think how many much perfectly good, recent PC hardware gets thrown away because the software gets messed up.
