Ha ha you are quite right, pissed myself laughing when I read that the other people on the train on the way to work didn't find it that funny!!!!

Thankfully it was a fantastic deal, I couldn't really say no and I won't be buying anymore games.

I found a Star Ocean II guide for $5 at a bookoff.
I also saw a stepdown voltage converter that was about the same size as a nightlight, it converts 120V to 100V. I was thinking about getting it but was wondering about reliability anyway.

Art of Fighting and a proper 6 button pad to go with it. No more 2 button nonsense for me.

Got one myself for art of fighting and fatal fury special. Their actually prett good and while the dpad is a little on the small side it's really gets the job done and makes quarter motions a breeze to pull off.

Indeed. The d-pad is no bigger that that of a regular PC Engine controller but it really is nice to use. Art of.Fighting is.also pretty good too. Way better than the Md and SFC versions.

What's your overall take on the PC-E at the moment? I've always envied the console.

Hmm, it's great and in some ways disappointing. With the CD games, a lot of them use the PC Engine sound chip for the sound effects which to be honest are quite weak at times. Just sounds odd having amazing music with tinny sound effects. Some of the card games are ageing poorly due to the lack of basic effects such as parallax scrolling BUT there are so many great games that you can overlook these short comings. For example, Super Wonder Boy 3 on the PC Engine CD has no parallax scrolling but it uses more colour than the Mega Drive and far better music. Art of Fighting shown above features all the cut scenes, speech and even an attempt at zooming which the Mega Drive doesn't. The SFC version does zoom but that looks far worse than this and is missing the cut scenes. World Heroes 2 is better on the PC Engine than SFC as are many other games.

Over all it's a great console. If I didn't have the CD version I'd rank it below a Mega Drive but with the CD it's probably better however that's a tough call as the Mega Drive also has so many fantastic games plus I really love the sound from a Mega Drive when done right.

Tecnosoft and Yuzo Koshiro gave us some of the best music/FX on the MD. Who else would you say?

My view is it's a very unique system that has some Japanese flavor you won't get on other systems but only worth it if you get a duo as the majority of the best games are on cd format.

It's also way more affordable to collect for than neo geo. If you get a duo get the duo r as they don't have the notorious cap leaking issue mine had. However I was able to get it fixed and sound on it is fantastic.

I see someone is on a PC engine binge :). I still have yet to get any of the arcade hu card games for my PC engine, but that is mainly due to the fact that I think a lot of are on the saturn, and so that is why I haven't bothered. I as well have picked up a few things, and will probably show later this week. Great pick ups as usual Yakumo

Some of the arcade stuff such as Fatal Fury Special, World Heroes 2 and Art of Fighting aren't on the Saturn which is a shame but a great reason to buy a PC Engine. World Heroes Jet is on the Saturn though :)

This is quite true, but I might try and get some of the arcade card stuff nevertheless :)

The seller said that it had been in a drawer at his office and that's about all the info I got. Heh if this is his business card, I want to see his office. o_O

I almost tripped over these, this is my second set. Don't know if there is a third edition, but I'm looking for the first edition.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2008/08/27/idUS201193+27-Aug-2008+BW20080827 explains what it relates to, basically a badly performing pre-recession CDO (that would have been a minor minor bit of the crash). It was likely printed aftermarket and handed to the key organisers of the CDO at the time. Lots of fund mangers, investment banks etc do all sorts of random 'celebration' type shit when closing funds, deals etc.
