Quoting the original post here so I don't need to go fishing for it later. It might help anyone else following this convo for information too:

    "dsreset 2 ox1a0 will work.

I assume you have a PC set up on the same network node as the TOOL. If it's running linux and you have the devtools installed then run the above command and it should work.

If you're running windows, get a copy of Cygwin and run it from there.

If you have ProDG, use go to the target manager and change the boot parameters to 2 (IOP) and 0x1A0 (EE)."

Will try this once I have finished here.

;-) - nobody has commented on the game on the desk which is "Colin McRae Rally 3 : limited edition" and signed by McRae. I'm a fan of rally, the game and McRae (being a Scot). I guess nobody else is on these boards. Now that's a debug I would LOVE to get my hands on.

As for running it with a MS keyboard :eek:h: I never even gave it a moments thought!

I'm just amazed at the tidiness of the desk - Mine is permanently a mess of papers, wires, teacups and general shite!

Seconded. McRae aside, there's nothing on it but computers and computer peripherals, it's unlike any desk I've ever lived near.

Do either of you have kids? With them running around it is suicidal to sit anything of value or importance down on a flat, available, reachable surface. It is bad enough that I have placed the monitor on a stand and left the PS2 in place - for reassurance I would normally have moved the computer equipment away, the consoles and finally the desk. That way I can be assured I still have something in my life that isn't scribbled on, broken, sellotaped to itself or chew/dribbled on.

No kids, but it was my impression things got messier when you had them, hence my surprise at the clutterless nirvana of your desk.

Just noitced Le Chat Noir framed above it ;)

ive found that introducing the kids to the various items and letting them have a play themselves occasionally keeps mine away suitably!

Then again, all of my business work, invoices, orders etc are kept with me an well away from their grubby little mits! :)

Let me 3 yr old son run riot with my dev kits??????? I must have some deeply rooted and ingrained OCD lurking just under the surface. Is it wrong to think "He's got yoghurt on his fingers, OMG he has.. HE'S GOING TO TOUCH MY CONTROLLLERRRRRR!!" ?

    ........... I guess so!

My sons introduction to consoles was December 2005. Yep, that date should ring a bell for MS fans. The week I got my mitts on the 360, my son imbedded a glass beer coaster (topped with tiny diamonds of mirror) into the DVD tray. Since then he and I have had an understanding. He looks, from a safe distance and doesn't touch. When he's old enough he'll have his very own console to do with what he will.

My other kids have their own, but there's a few years between them.

Alchy, do you also have a black cat above your desk?

Also, possibly as well as Alchy, i have a black cat usualy above my PC desk..... Difference is mine is alive and kicking and loves to sit on the shelf above!

It must be a difference in gender. My 2 girls would have left anything you told them not too touch. When my youngest was told, that was that...just the once! With my son, it is like a red rag to a bull. No amount of telling him "no!" makes any difference. He is much more adventurous and challenging of authority. That said, if you tell him something is dangerous he won't touch it.

There is something morally wrong about telling him my consoles are dangerous though lol

Yeah, we also have a live black & white cat that pads about the house like it's a hotel. She allows us to occupy the same space. Most cats are the same.
