At the time I lost it, it was already decrypted. Because we knew what was needed to decrypt it, the data with the encryption keys were backed up, I still owned the original harddrive and found a post (from myself) at PSX-SCENE with the TOC of my harddrive back then I was able to re-inject the correct information at the needed places, reviving Bishi Bashi in it's original form. Additionally I was able to restore the Kotoba no Pazuru Mojipittan trial which I also had on the harddrive back then.

So nothing of value was lost (besides my 10 years old FFXI install) in the end.

Edit: Both bishi bashi and word puzzle mojipittan were demo versions of the game.

Well I'm sure you are right. I also have a ISO of the original disc, not the "dumped files in an ISO" and does work for offline mode and it does try to install data but sadly it looks as if it needs "online DNAS info".
I can PM you a link if you like to have it.

I noticed that the games which have a protection fails to work and needs to be patched.

From what i see the antimodchip protection do not affects emulators, but yes for the
antycopy (Libcrypt) one, which causes freezes also in the PC emu ePSXe.

Well, with the format of a game riped with Clone CD (sub+img+ccd) the emus can work
with them also because the Libcrypt protection are stored in the subchannel data, but
when is used the format of bin+cue then is needed patch the games with the classical
    patches from scene groups.

I wrote in the compatibility list the games i encountered which need a protection fix patch,
some examples are PAL versions of Resident Evil 3 and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, generally
this Lybcript protection is used more in some PAL versions of the games, but there are also
    some NTSC-U and NTSC-J games.

Which i don't like about the patches is the trainers and times of wait in the loading, will be
better if it will be possible inject in the emu just only the code for fix the protection, like it
works for the game Metal Gear Solid: Special Missions PAL for skip the check of first disc.

About the game Wipeout 3, before i thought that if freezes due to SFX fail because it freezes
with a strong glitched sound, but there is not any problem with the SFX for this game, its just one of
this Lybcrypt protected games, when is patched then no more freezes, works like the Special Edition.

One game which works fine with the SFX in one region and is glitched in other is the Rapid
Reload PAL (Gunners Heaven in NTSC-J), i tryed myself to explore the files betwen the
same game of different region for see why the sound works fine in Gunners Heaven and
works glitched in the Rapid Reload, but no luck, i don't encountered which are the files of
    the sound for compare them.

Well, just tests and info which i share.

    Regards.

    Good job :)
Just wondering if it's somehow possible to use clone cd images with this emu?
I know the converter can't handle it right now...

Also the libcrypt code for this games is downloadable in form of SBI subchannel files
in http://redump.org/disc/1387/ which can be used with the ePSXe.

About the patches are needed apply for the specific PAL country if the game is not a generic
multi euro, if the game have a concrete PAL french version for example then is needed apply
just the PAL french patch, other PAL patches for the same game, english, spanish, etc, not
    works in this case.

I found a third game as the first two Cool Boarders in which the audio CD tracks not works,
is the game Time Crisis: Project Titan PAL, with the difference that in Time Crisis you can hear
a glitched sound, (in the two first Cool Boarders the music is totally muted).

I tryed the three games with the OSD replacement of Codebreaker and the tracks worked fine
for the three games, then i don't know why fails for the emu, if is a problem of emulation or
if the cue2pops creates anything bad for the tracks on this games.

    Regards.

    Greets.

Been working hard this month in adding game fixes to CUE2POPS and implementing a counterpart of that function in POPStarter. I was about to publish the package, when it comes to my attention that "yeshuachrist" made a bundle containing yet another hexhack of POPS-00001 and a stupidly hex edited CUE2POPS_2_0_DEBUG.EXE. Of course, the source code and the original readme aren't attached.

    What are the modifications ?
    fix_game = %d changed to fix_game = 1 (WTF ?)
The program name and the build date were replaced by "DRAGE AND DROP .CUE RENAME TO MYDUMB.BIN":dejection:
    gap_less = %d changed to gap_less = 1 (WTF ?)

Nothing but sabotage. He brokes the debug info which now reports incorrect values and removed both version number and build date.

Read the posts of that guy and you'll learn that "Popstarter has compatibility issues it introduces, it better to avoid the buggy program.". Oh and "Those Compatibility lists are bad, period, and nobody is testing anything", so he made his very own list....

Read THIS to see who's the "yeshuachrist" dude I'm talking about.

    - POPStarter (the latest public build, r12) does NOT introduce compatibility issues. The only issue that was found can be fixed by using a retail BIOS. As the POC2 cannot run >137 GB, it's better to avoid the scumbag's package.
    - This compatibility list is directly related to POPStarter. I don't know how much false positive there are in it, but it's still better than any of the yeshuachrist shit.

I'm for sure too angry to make a decision between cancelling POPStarter and getting the hell out of the PS2 stuff. For now I prefer to simply delay the release of the new revision...

On a sidenote, yeshuachrist has pop'd out another FMCB build called "Super Soft Mod 2.0"... I don't know what it is, however it brings back bad memories.

I had already seen that eyshuachrist's post at isozone and I did a comment there just to see what he would say about... Then he wrote that nonsense thing. I didn't try arguing with him, because I see that all he wants is to get fame making tutorials of obsolete stuff. Concerning this so called "Super Soft Mod 2.0" is nothing but a mod version of FMCB 1.7 which we know that is an old stuff.

You have done some great work with POPS krHACKen. I enjoy using it very much and I thank you for that. Unfortunately there's always going to be someone who is taking stuff that is not theirs and changing/modifying it to their own liking...

Hopefully these people that do this shit will not bring you down and keep you from doing your work on POPS loader.

    +1
    Agree with that.
I did some tuts and gamerips with xdelta in the past for the psp and as soon i posted them, they where published on a well known lame site...
Still don't know how they could grab that info so fast, maybe they used some sort of sniffer program?
Ah well, ignoring is the best approach i guess.

Would be a shame too loose you over this krHACKen... So hold on and try to be motivated for the people who do appreciate your work :)

Oh man, why there is always people like that guy... please krHACKen ignore that, we appreciate
all your hard work and effort, and we support you for keep all it and continue publishing
    improvements for your great postarter.

About compatibility list of popstarter i test the games carefully playing at least two levels
on each game, and trying different bios and osd replacementes when there is a problem in
    a game.

Off course it can have any false positive, there is a multidisk games which can have a freeze
in a more advanced part of a game and other things, but overall i think the list is enought
accurate and now we have 209 tested games, and i continue testing more games for add
them to the list in the next weeks.

    We are with you.

    Regards.

PD: I readed now what this guy says about false positives, he checked just only an
obsolete pops-00001 compatibility list, what an ignorant, and all other stuff he made
is a pile of crap, irritating but better ignore it.

    Oh dear. :/

Well, there's one thing we can do to prevent this from occurring again though: DRM-protect our stuff and don't release the sources until we're ready (probably when it's stable).

I'm aiming for the DRM route for some of my more sensitive projects at the moment, as I don't want some people to study my code.

Please don't stop, since you're working on something that should have been made available to us all back then. We're only getting something similar with the newer consoles like the PlayStation 3 and PSP.

For me life is too short, if you release the source then it just makes it boring for them to hack it. You never know, you might get people fixing bugs in it. There are a couple that I'd like to have a stab at with pops for instance.

Don't get me wrong: 99% of the stuff I make do have their sources released eventually, but there are just some stuff that shouldn't be ever reversed (either due to agreements with other developers or some personal reasons).

Since we're making open-source projects, theft is always a problem: The sources could be taken, modified and rebranded without authorization. Sometimes, it's even used for profit... although you know that it's obviously a rip-off of the original.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is the whole point of this psx emulator to be able to run psx games of a disc image rather than an actual disc?
Also where does this come from? Who developed it? What's the story behind this thing? :)
