I have to give Mat & team credit for being willing to cut out BD emulation but sadly i'm sure someone else will come in and put it back. =(
It's already been re-enabled. There's a .rar file available containing precompiled hex for all the Teensy boards and the AT90USB key too. :033: Should be TI-84+ and PSP releases in the near future too. Hacking your PS3 with a calculator = awesomeness.
Really? Where did you see this? Really interested in this for the homebrew aspect and i'll give the teams props for cutting out the backup manager
http://twitter.com/MuscleNerd/status/22684895030 It's possible but someone has to port it to the iPhone first. I hope this will happen soon!
if they close up BR emulation i don't care as long as i can get my homebrews and emus running! waiting for the psp app ( and for some good homebrew too )
Link? sounds cool Yeah, the last hurrah of hackers before the age of probe-in-the-ass antipiracy measures...
Mathieulh said he wouldn't port to the psp because he has other priorities, so we'll have to wait till someone else decides to port it. As for the iphone version, I have no idea. http://twitter.com/MuscleNerd/status/22687654384
Speaking of homebrew, does it require somekind of encryption (private/public keys) for running? Did someone already analized the backup manager to see how it works?
From what I understand that's the whole point of this "modchip" with the USB devices. It injects some kind of code that allows running unsigned code. So you don't need any encryption or key to run the programs, just like how PSP works. Once your firmware is hacked, it doesn't care if programs are signed properly. I really want to see a PSP program that does the exploit injection for you. Would make it so I don't have to buy anything to check this out.
I prefer to back up my games, and keep the originals safe. :fresh: (I have bad luck with ruining my disks) Removing a good feature in fear that it will allow piracy, why thats the same thinking Sony used when they removed OtherOS.
